I have been testing the new tallow & duck formula and rank it right along some others including Talbot, L&L, Sudsy, Turtleship & P&B. Maybe even higher. It's already a better soap than some already well established artisans.

This reminds me, I have a tub of P&B that came in yesterday, you just helped me pick my soap of the day Tongue

Salaam Mohammed. I have you on my list of vendors to try. We lose touch comparing X soap maker to Y soap maker. I collected and studied oriental rugs. You collect only Hamadans and a Kurdish kilim comes along and you love it. A myth is that all rugs
have a deliberate flaw as 'only God can make something perfect' when it's a case of two women, often experienced mother teaching daughter weaving side by side by pattern code and missing a correct step while gossiping or having to substitute yarn supplies of
a different shade of red etc ( called abrash by collectors and often mistaken for fading by people new to collecting.) Your soapmaking is like rugs and each batch will be unique.
Michael P-- you posted a stunning brush with wood and a metal handle. Is that lettering? it looks like Arabic alphabet but for all I can tell could be LOTR Elvish.

Lovely descriptions and write up sir! I love Tibetan rugs especially the minimal abstract ones. I do hope you get to try my soaps Smile

Thanks, KAV, for the kind words about the brush: It's a Saponificio Varesino with a Cocobolo handle and metal band. The lettering on the band looks to me to be a stylized 'SV'.

Sounds fantastic. Any indications of when this new tallow/duck base soaps will become available?

Oh thankyou for saving me. I'm sitting here trying to remember my limited Farsi and Arabic and make sense of the inscription. Last time I did this was concerning an old C 96 Mauser with an engraved presentation several Arabic scholars failed to translate. I looked at it and knowing a bit about engraving realized the inscription was reversed to read left to right and after transcribing in a mirror went to my high school Assyrian born teacher. It was Yizidi, a fascinating people badly treated in the sad current events in the cradle of civilization.

Hey Mohammaed ,

Just thought I'd ask - are the new duck fat based soaps in any way inspired by Creed scents?

Hey Mohammed ,

Is your reply missing a few words or is that just me?

Sorry about that! The second tallow+duck release will be a be inspired by Creed, it'll have violet, lemon, and ambergris.
