It's sharp and it cuts. I like it...

Hadn’t used the GC in a bit as I was participating in the OCtober event and got it on with some of my favorite open comb razors. Honestly though, I hadn’t shaved with the GC in over a month and tonight was the night for this smooth operator. And it delivered. Had the .84 base plate and an Astra SP installed. Just an excellent combination of smoothness & efficiency with just a touch more blade feel than the .68 version. You really can’t go wrong with either base plate as a daily shaver. But, I give the nod to the .84 as it gives me the feel and comfort that I look for in a daily. Not that I use it daily but, if I were it would be the one. Joe has commented on Twitter that we will see an open comb Game Changer in 2019 and possibly a 1.05mm gapped base plate as well.

Talking about going balls to the walls dang Joe. Can you least put out a .74 or .75 mm GC first then go crazy on the next one.

Do you find the .84mm Game Changer too aggressive?

Yes just a tad bit aggressive for me and .68 is just too mild for me. If I was Joe I would have done a .74mm instead of the .68. I have to say they are both great razors and I will still shave with them.

Good news, seems they finally got the message. I had them both and sold them, found them frustrating as getting a BBS in 2 passes was impossible for me. Same as the Mamba. I got to the conclusion that I’d not buy a RR razor anymore. The 0.84 was not aggressive at all in my opinion, but just not efficient. If I were them I’d increase the blade angle as well, basically making it the same as a Wolfman. I get wonderful 2 pass BBSs with my WR1 0.74

wow it is amazing how everyone gets different results from different DE razors. I get BBS from both GC the .68 is 3 passes and 84 is 2 passes, but tad bit aggressive to me. Now my WR1 74 that was far more aggressive and less efficient that the GC .84.

I have always said it depends on the face, skin, and type of hair. My neighbor gets a BBS shave with a Walmart DE and I let him use the GC .68 and he got butchered. That is why DE razor reviews are pretty much worthless as it just you need to try it on your own.

Indeed! I found that reviews are not very useful because there are so many subjective parameters. Best way to know is to get the razor and try it
