Finally, a good BBS.
Very odd this Focus Tritok R51 Flat.
Needs an unconvetional (to me) technique.
Holding the handle as a pen, near the head.
Not that easy ... as to have no blade feedback.
I don't know if this is good, and If I like it.
Last part of my learning curve.

But It's really photogenic.

Looks very interesting. I would buy a curved head model R52 or a slant R53, when they become available.

Today I went into hack mode.

To make this sweet razor a little more effective, I use three blades at the same time. Not shims.
The flat geometry allows the use of multiple blades.
This slightly increases the gap, without exposure problems.

It works wonderfully and my BBS is fast and easy as usual.
To increase the cut, I used uncovered blades.
Usually I don't like Stainless Steel ones, which I find raw.
But in this scenario they are the right choice.

This new path seems very interesting to me. Wink

Today I tried with two blades.
So another experiment ... Focus Hack2 or Focus2.
Good result, but to be improved.
The sweetness is right, it lacks a little effectiveness.
Focus3 is too aggressive for me.
But Focus2 does not offer adequate BBS duration.

Maybe somewhere in between will be perfect for me.
Tomorrow I will use two blades, but with a spacer in the middle.

In the meantime, take a look at my experiment. Wink

I read your reviews recently and tried to look in the pictures but can't see close enough. If I'm understanding right, you have 2 blades back to back in there? If so, can you show a closer photo of what it looks like? Thanks again for your thoughts.

Really excited for r52!

In the Focus3 (Focus Hack3) picture there're more details.
The pic is bigger (1500x1500px), so you can see better.
To see full size, needs to open in a new windows / tab.

There you can see two blades, but acturally was three.
Yes, 3 blades with no shims.

Okay, I thought I was understanding correctly. I clicked the photo and zoomed in more but can't tell. No worries, I usually investigate before asking but thought I was missing something. Pretty cool!

It the magic of this new geometry of the head.
IMHO, with a little more blade feedback It'd be perfect.
BTW, with a little effort It's easy to fix that.

Today further experiment on Focus Tritok R51 Flat.

The Focus2S hack, with two blades and one shim in between, was a step forward.
But still not optimal, given that the greater effectiveness was paid for with comfort.
Moreover the shim, which I made by cutting the used blade with scissors, is decidedly rough.
So there was a net loss of rigidity, so much so that the blade sang like a soprano.
For me already only this symptom of imperfect management of forces.

The road is good.
With some adjustments it will lead to the goal.
I am confident, and looking forward to the next result.
