Well, the initial 8 to 10 days has come and gone.  We're any day now, right??????

You are right. I’ve been waiting for my vendors to get their orders in and I’ve only heard from one of them in the US and my Euro dealer. Not happy they are taking their time meanwhile I have lots of my customers waiting and I have inventory just sitting there. I’ve messaged them and left voicemail messages so if I don’t hear from them by Monday night I’m going to have to release the two new releases. Just so you know not all the soap manufacturers wait for their vendors to launch a new product. I’ve always done that to keep things fair but it’s also not fair that some vendors get their orders in quickly while a couple take their time about it. And I have to wait till they get their shipments. Anyway I’m not waiting so let’s see how this plays out but if their orders aren’t in on Monday then I’ll post up a release date.

Sorry for the rant.

Thank you Frank.  I stumbled into that handle via what turned out to be a lucky accident.  I had ordered a different handle, which got sent to Lee Sabini, but the parcel got slammed and the handle cracked on the return trip across the pond.  When the smoke cleared, I wound up with the brush in the photo. — No regrets whatsoever on my part!

This was my Saturday morning shave thanks to the kindness and generosity of one of my customers Sascoman  Ken.. he sent me his Athena SS razor to try as it’s one I’ve been curious about as it’s very unique looking. It was a Vanilla type day so I pulled that out and I loaded the razor with a Gillette Platinum ( made in Russia ) as they have been one of my go to blades after dtownvino Mike turned me on to them. They’re fairly sharp but very smooth. I had 3 days growth so normally I’ll pull a mid to fairly efficient razor out but I thought let’s find out how the Athena compares. Well it’s a very mild smooth razor. Blade feel was minimalist. It took 3 passes and a little touch up here and there but I got what I call an entry level BBS. The razor comes in a very impressive wooden box and the fit and finish is very good. So all around this was a very enjoyable shave. I’m going to use it again tomorrow to see what it’s like as a daily driver. Then I’ll let my bread grow for 2 full days and I want to put a Feather in it and see how that goes. 

I don’t usually post my SOTD’s here but I wanted to thank Ken for letting me try the razor. So thanks again!
