Great contest Frank, thank you! Congrats Captainjonny and SinCityAg !

What a great game! I was sure we were going to have another repeat of the Chiefs running over anyone in their way. That made me so happy to see it go the complete opposite direction.

Congrats to the Eagles fans, too.

Excellent SOTD photo by the way. An it was fun having a little fun with a contest now and then. Send me an email or a call since we’ve talked before. I’m around.

All the best

Hey Frank, how does your Vetyver compare to the MDC Vetyver?

Another question since you're the one making scents.  I've been growing Vetiver going on a year now and the plants are doing great.  I repotted a few in larger containers and tried to get an idea of the fragrance of the roots which is what they make the perfume/cologne and essential oils from.  I was expecting some kind of fragrance like vetiver shave soaps or vetiver aftershaves have.  I even bought some decently expensive Terre Dhermes Eau Intense Vetiver / Hermes EDP Spray, and that smells like other Vetiver products, but the dried up roots just smell like earth.  I've read people purposely save dried roots as kind of a poupourri but what I have sampled has little to no smell.  Can you make sense of it for me.  Thanks.

Hello Sir

I’d say my Vetivert doesn’t smell like MDC ‘s but if you used the Aftershae or EDP they’d probably match fine.

As far as the plant and the roots go I’m thinking the soma comes with the distillion process but now you’ve got my attention so I’ll do a little homework on this. I know there are quite a few varieties of Vetiver EO’s and some new Hybrids as well as that’s trend.

Good post!

I did a little searching around online and most people say vetiver naturally has an earthy or wood scent which I would say the roots do have that kind of fragrance. Not bad at all but not like what other label as vetiver.  Some went as far as saying it could vary and might resemble an old musty library with old books and a scent of rotting wood. Some also say some of the products I referenced may use vetiver as a base note but it's the other scents that may be more prominent.  I do really like that Terre Dhermes Eau Intense Vetiver EDT I just bought, but others say the vetiver is pretty weak in it (odd they call it INTENSE vetiver) and has a stronger orange scent to it.

I'll have to give your vetiver a try as everything I've tried so far of your products are top notch.  Just wondering if the Rosa will be returning at all this year?  Thanks Frank you're the best!!!

Interesting on the Vetiver as the different variants I’ve had my nose on all have a unique character to them. My Vetivert has the slight bergamot type note to it which is more typical of the Hati variety.

I will be bringing back Rosa as it will become a standard scent. Just waiting for my bulk soap to cure as I have a lot of different scents to release or restock and Rosa is one of them.
