This is a gin distilled where my wife grew up. Kind of spectacular in every sense and had to jump through some serious hoops to get a couple bottles.

Just bought this:

EL RON PROHIBIDO HABANERO Solera 12
It is a Mexican Rum.

It has an intriguing history: "Ron Prohibido was shipped from Mexico to Spain in the 17th century in used sweet wine barrels where the distinctive sweet and bitter taste it acquired during the voyage was much appreciated... so much so that local producers in Spain persuaded King Felipe V to ban it."

(Prohibido = Forbidden)

I don't know how it tastes, yet Smile

Does it contain habaneros? Can't be bad if it does.

You guys and your beer! How I love beer and generally can't touch it anymore so I'm envious. Older age and an "atypical prostate", so my Dr. tells me since I can drink alcohol, just can't touch anything hopped. Generally I'll have 1/2 a beer and while I might want to drain a kidney, I can't. Scary when that happens; to have a full bladder and no way to empty it. But the other day it was hot and I was dehydrated, so I said "what the hey" and had a cold one. Hours later I had to drain the bladder and surprisingly no problem. So it appears the problem comes and goes fairly rapidly.

I quite appreciate the adult sodas, and that's what they are. Yup, one and done. Good with pizza or a burger.

But yesterday I acquired some Vita Malt Ginger. It was the ginger I saw that prompted me to buy a few since I love ginger beer. A test taste told me that this wasn't what I thought I was buying. But I decided it would make a good mixer for some dark rum. I was right. It was very different, but good. A heavy taste due to the malt. IMO, not a good summer drink due to that.

I hope it doesn't!
It was called Habanero because the last boat filled with this rum was stopped in Havana/Habana (Cuba), but they didn't allow it to continue the travel. Habanero = from Havana. Long story!

I must throw in my two cents worth. I am not a drinker.

I am not a drinker.  Never have been. I don't like how it/they make(s) me feel.  Dizzier than usual. I am not a drinker.

I am sure you will tell me I don't know what I am missing but I have tasted many of them.  I am not a drinker.

I notice a number of them generate very rich looking lather.

Can you shave with them?

Good day folks,

So I am having a bit of a beer day, so far I am in my second.

My first beer is from a craft brewer that has featured here before and one of my favourites - Magic Rock Brewery. I had their Dark Arts Stout with....breakfast!

My second is a new brewery to me and so far it's going down nicely. Thornbridge Raspberry Stout. This is very rich with a great fruitiness in the background.
