Why is anybody making hollow handles these days?

That problem isn't what I was expecting (I was expecting something broken/snapped). At least it should be easily fixable on EJ's end. I will say this: They have EXCELLENT customer service. The EJ89LBL that I dropped in the sink was replaced immediately with an email. I would think this problem would be as well. Send them an email with a picture and your receipt and I'm sure they will take care of it.

The Karve handle isn't hollow at all... It is machines just a little more than the length of the part to be press fit into it which technically still makes it a solid handle. The reason the handle is a 3pc instead of solid is because of the knurling on the handle. Its near impossible to do with the ends attached.

I have said this in other forums but I am sure that the ends of the handle EJ uses are press fit ends much like the Karve and many of the vintage Gillette's... There is no picture evidence of any glue being used so far which makes me think its press fit also!! I'm not sure its good business for Joe to be posting pics of it to drive up his sales of the GC though. It just reflects badly on him bashing a competitor... Just my opinion!!

Well, in my opinion, RR Joe can do whatever he wants.

He made the best razor to date and charges $55.

GC .84 Closed comb is pretty good razor, and it has the best price for that much quality. Incredible price, I totally agree.
But I like how 3one6 shave more than GC.
I feel EJ 3one6 more effective.

I know this is slightly off subject. The RR GC has been one of my favorite razors, not because it is great quality for the price...but because it is a fantastic shaver. Based on my first shave with the new RR Lupo yesterday, it gave me a better shave than the GC! Lupo delivered quality and a great shave at an even more ridiculous price point (less than $30) than the GC.

Question: Can someone who owns both an EJ 3one6 and the RR Lupo, please post a "shave comparison" of those razors?

It is not the price of a razor or how it is built, but ultimately the comfort and efficiency of the shave.

Yes, I have razors which I will not part with, and are not the best shavers. My reasons are like everyone else. Some are beautiful heirlooms, and others have history, rarity or just cool designs. But ultimately, everyone gravitates to the razor that delivers the best shave for them, regardless of price point.

Are the colored handles stainless or aluminum?

That's a good deal but with all the other quality razors out there why would anyone want a "mild" EJ in stainless as their regular EJ89 is more than sufficient to do the job
