I am preemptively putting a therapist on retainer in case my ability to fill the void falls short of the mark.

Yeah yeah yeah. "You Mock my pain"..........................sorry, slipped off into Princess Bride quotes. Post below that's been overdue waiting on some spare time to do the project.

So this afternoon I took some alone time in the shop to finish a project I blame............I mean thank Danny (Hembree on the 30DC at TSD) for. After seeing his electric razor that takes any DE Head I had been watching and seen some go thru eBay at crazy prices but bad condition or they didn't accept any other heads as his did. Then this one popped up for and I won for $10.50 and the bonus was it came with Mystery Edge Blades (Did someone say Mayhem) and what turns out to be a VERY OLD Hull Pottery 1940's Old Spice Mug.

When it arrived I had to wonder how the person could list it as working since the cord was frayed and bare wires showing that would short a circuit if it was plugged in. So I decide to get a lamp cord and replace it but as I start to look for a place to splice and solder the wire I find the sheathing is dried out and brittle. Literally falling apart between my fingers. This led to slowly taking it apart and trying to find good wiring which led the search all the way back to the lead wires coming off the transformer inside the body of it. So be it as I had plenty of cord. All connected, soldered, heat shrink tubing installed and cloth sheath to prevent abrasion from vibrating.

There is no on/off switch so it comes on as soon as you plug it in. I may add an inline switch down the road. But at least now it's ready for a shave. Only question is do I use the stock head or swap it out for something else ???

I am woefully ignorant. What does the electricity do, vibrate the head?? That sounds bad. Heat the blade, which is bad, if electricity is conducted to the blade. My google fu failed, so I thought I'd better ask, What is this?
Huh

Well it all sounds bad to you so.......................wait and see. It vibrates the head just like modern electric Gillette's but this was back then (30's) just like the Stahly Razor. I don't think it improved the shave with the Stahly I have but I don't buy razors to sit in drawers without FIRST trying them at least once. Stay tuned to see if Dave survives. Sometimes we just do things to see if we can Eric Winking

Ain't got none of those beer thingy's but have a bag of the rubber gaskets for a hose connection which hopefully will do the trick for raising my brush Knot (Maggard's 2 Band Badger) I set in another Trotter Handcraft handle. Setting up for 1 day this week.

Looking good, Dave. I didn't have anything other than quarters, and shopping on Amazon was faster than getting my butt over to a real hardware store (as opposed to getting lost in the Big Box stores!).

And I really found that plastic sleeve worked great. Good luck!
