I do have to agree, I’m disappointed about the handle choice as the torpedo handle is my least favourite as well. Charcoal Goods razors are my favourite razors, these are best shavers I’ve used and I was looking forward to the new stainless steel razor but with just that handle, I’ll pass, unfortunately.

I don't own a Charcoal Goods razor but they always looked like works of art, and I have lusted after them. To me, their new design has lost that something special.

I agree to liking the old design. It made them unique. My level 2 give me the best shave of all my razors so I'll stick pick one up but disappointed.

I agree. My desire for a CG is pretty much gone unless I stumble on to a pre-owned model in the config that was of interest.

I may be wrong here, but aren’t the new top cap baseplate look just for the stainless steel models that are coming out? I believe the copper and brass models will still look the same as past versions? If you don’t have a Charcoal Goods razor you should get one! It’s seriously awesome and I LOVE the series 1 Stinger handle!! IMO these are the best razors on the market and I’ve tried most of the high end DE razors, nothing beats them for smoothness, efficiency and comfort.

I have a DC from CG and I personally would only buy the SB moving forward from CG. I feel the SB gives a smoother, more comfortable shave than the OC side, so I’m not upset about the decision to just produce SB.

That is such a critical point that, if true, it should have been highlighted in his email, in bold.... and underlined.

I actually like the new design - more modern, bigger drain holes and perhaps more blade stability.

Will I buy his first announced release of SS with 4" handle -- NO WAY
Do I look forward to buying some new version razors and handles -- YES

Another one person shop with excellent products and demand exceeding supply. Sounds like Brian has made some significant investments in new equipment and hopefully we all wish him success. We also hope for a variety of razors that will make everyone smile.

I guess I’m in the minority here. I love the look of the new cap. A smooth cap looks great imo. I really don’t care what the baseplate looks like in all honesty. It’s the cap that’s mainly visible.

Polished isn’t a big thing for me. I have wolfmans for that. I can’t wait. I love the torpedo and will snapping one up asap.

From Brian's Instagram posts, it seems that it's just going to be Stainless & Copper that will feature the new generation 2 Baseplate & generation 4 topcaps

I read on his Insta that the new baseplate design mutes the audio feedback somewhat.
Kinda love the sound it makes right now.
