New level 2 head gave me a similar shave to RS-10. Similar to that it's a really good tradeoff between smooth and efficient, but maybe not quite where I like it.

I went with lvl 2 because it was compared to Timeless 95 on CG site; it's not quite that efficient IMO.

A nice razor but when the next round of stuff comes up Im grabbing a level 3.

If a 95 OC or Blackbird are just a bit too much for you (these are my points of comparison that I own), this is a nice razor. Very well made, too.

IMO.

Maybe I'll get lucky and someone will sell me a copper level 3 in the interim.

The sites back open if anyone missed it. Grabbed a copper plate to create the frankenrazor one been wanting for so long. Ss top and handle copper base. Here's with brass for anyone curious. Gen 4 top gen 1 base.[Image: KAunPII.jpg]

Sorry for the long delay in comparing side by side the old vs new level 2 from Charcoal Goods. I wanted to wait till I got a Copper one to compare.
Pre shave Hot shower
Blade PolSilver
Soap Eufros Jasmine
Razor Copper dual comb ( used the SB ) 1st gen, Copper SB 2nd gen
Brush Elite Manchurian
Post AS Chatillion Luxe Lavender
I did a 2 pass WTG, ATG the original on my left and the 2nd gen on the right.
Both razors felt very similar WTG the sound was slightly hollower on the 2nd gen and they both took down the majority of my growth. ATG the 2nd gen felt slightly smoother but the end result was equal on both sides. BBS on my face and DFS on my neck.
Comparing the 2 side by side definitely let me realize the difference in the sound of the shave and the slightly smoother ATG pass by the 2nd gen. I did not feel any difference In the end result.

He just released the brass razors.
I noticed that the base plates are gen 1, I thought he was only making gen 2 plates now?

"Over the course of 2019-2020 production will move to the new design."

I cant say for sure but it could be very well be old plates he already cut.

Or there has been a chorus of voices clamouring to keep Gen 1 alive.

I know that I am firmly in that camp. Audio feedback from that plate
might be the sexiest sound a razor has ever made.

Now you're making me want to get a gen 1 Lol

In his own words:

"The new razor design looks different but actually shaves the same as the original. Your face can't tell which generation you are using."

not sure. it doesn't matter too much to me personally though.

I already have a copper level 2 but went ahead and grabbed a whole level 3 in antiqued brass.

tbh Im probably just using this as a way to judge my perfect setup for when the stainless ones come around.

at first I didnt love my level 2 but as I used it more I started to like it more and more. unfortunately I suspect that my perfect CG levels might be 2.5 =[
