Budget brush

Hey guys .

Im getting bored with boar brushes and synthetics . Time to get badger and try new stuff . What you recommend as a first badger brush? Maybe a savile row 3124 ?

You could always go with the mixed badger/boar like the Vulfix Grosvenor.

Stirling and Maggard 2-band badgers have a fairly good rep for their low cost of entry. I used to have a Stirling and it was a good brush, but I sold it when I hopped fully on to the synthetic train. I'm just getting back into badgers myself too.

I always thought Edwin Jagger brushes were good value. Also my first good brush - daily use (and abuse) for 3 years.

I had one of those a while back and was not impressed. It was supposed to have combined the good qualities of both badger and boar, but to me it included the bad qualities of both, sucking up too much water and not having enough backbone.

My vote is to go with a WD since you can mix and match your handle and knot.

You may want to check out the RazoRock Chubby Extra Silvertip Badger Shaving Brush - Olive Wood 506 Handle . I have heard good comments made about it.
