Man oh man. This thing , The Dart, is really nice looking. I still can’t believe it was only 99 bucks. The handle work is nice and grippy like the Blackbird. I really dig the curve of the head. The machined finish is a really nice touch for me. It gives me the feeling of a tool or some sort of machine part. The packaging is quality as always. I have it loaded up and ready to go for the morning. Whoot

My first shave with the dart razor was amazing, it took more whiskers off my face after 1 days growth than any of my other razors, how do I know, the sink does not lie. This razor is good looking, built well and I like the weight of this razor. Blackland razors shipped very quick and packed the razor very well. I would recommend this company to anyone wanting to buy a razor. I forgot, the 5 personna blades was a nice finishing touch. Yes. The AC, also.

Now that the Dart is out to excellent reviews, any updates or info on the AC. I am intrigued by what your design of the head will be.

Is this a new head design that I see here on your recent Instagram post? Hmmm?

New, news and more news..... An email from the Blackland subscribers list. Good things ahead...

Hi Blacklanders,

November was truly an incredible month for Blackland. The highly successful release of the Vector coupled with a huge turnout for Blackland Friday resulted in our biggest month in history. Thank you!

While last month was all about the Vector, there is a lot more brewing behind the scenes. Here is a quick list of updates and projects that are in the works. This list is comprised of things that are currently in progress and is not exhaustive. 2019 will bring a several new products including new razors, finishes, software, and accessories. We’ll talk about all that another day, but today we’re going to go over the things that are coming soon and updates you’ve been waiting for.

Polished Razors

Polishing has been set back for a bit due to issues with our polishing contractor. Solving this is currently a top priority and I hope to have more polished Blackbirds and Sabres along with polished Vectors next month. This is more of a goal than an actual timeline estimate so I’ll be updating this as we go forward. The issue stems from scaling up production while maintaining a quality finish. Every batch of polished razors has gotten progressively larger and the demand has grown in kind. To accommodate that expansion is going to require some more work. I’m hoping we’ll see the payoff of that work very soon.

Brass Blackbirds

After three years of success, the stainless Blackbird is a getting a partner. The brass Blackbird (yes, you may call it the Brassbird) is currently in production and is expected to be available in less than two months. As with most Blackland razor releases, it will debut in the machined finish and a polished finish will follow. Customers will now be able to choose between stainless steel and brass when they order a Blackbird. But that’s not the only choice you’ll have to make…..

The Return of the 101mm Blackbird Handle

You’ve pleaded for it and I’m finally bringing it back. When the Blackbird originally debuted, it had an option of either a 70mm or 101mm handle. After a year, both those options were eliminated in favor a single 85mm handle option. While the 70mm handle will not be returning, you will now be able to choose between a 101mm handle or an 85mm one (or both). The 101mm option will debut with the brass Blackbird and will make its way to the stainless steel variant when we machine another batch of those in a few months.

Brushes

Also nearing production is a line of anodized aluminum brushes. These have been a goal for the last few years and they’re finally getting pulled off the back burner. Keep an eye out for updates on these.

Amazon Prime

The Dart is already available through Amazon Prime and the Blackbird, Vector, and Sabre will all be making their way to Prime shortly. If you want a Blackland razor with the convenience of Amazon Prime and without the tender goodbye hug I give to each package I ship, this is the ticket for you.

International Retailers

No matter how you cut it, international shipping is a pain. It’s slow, expensive, and makes the whole process of purchasing a razor less enjoyable. In the coming months I aim to solve or at least improve this by using more retailers abroad. But I need your help. If you have a favorite retailer in your country, please reach out and let me know. Specifically, I’m looking for retailers in Russia, western Europe, eastern Europe, and Canada.

As I said at the top, this is just a small bit of what’s cooking at Blackland. If you have any suggestions, requests, complaints, or good jokes, let me know.

Top of the Chain will be stocking Blackland products for our Canadian friends in the next few weeks. European retailers are in the works. Still on the hunt for Russian retailers.
