Superb craftsmanship Shane (Blackland Razors)!

First shave in the books and I must say a very, very smooth and satisfying shave. I completed a 3 pass with very light buff work around the jawline area and throat and not a single weeper, nic or cut. It is on the mild side, but very efficient and somehow I find it very easily maneuverable and not as heavy as I thought. Then again, I've shaved with a Brass General and that's as heavy as it gets. But the Sabre is no light weight, just not as heavy as the BG. It's just about perfect with excellent balance and overall feel. And the feel is premium Gents. The razor never felt like it would slip out of my hands as the handle provided a very smooth but tactile feel to it. Very nice indeed. Shave angle is ridiculously easy and maintaining that angle throughout the shave is intuitive and practically second nature. It was the quickest, nearly BBS 3 pass shave I've had this side of the OneBlade, period.

Overall, it was an excellent shave with a premium feeling razor and blade combo that works smoothly together. A simple 3 piece design that is both modern and classic. I can't compare it to another GEM style razor for this is my first one. In shave feel I would compare it to the Brass General in smoothness, efficiency and ease of shave. And I love my Brass General. The General covers more area, but the Sabre is more nimble and can work those tight spots that makes it a bit tougher for the BG to work on.

Just a quick side note. I am an aggressive shave fan. My Asylum Rx is my Top Dog razor. Then I discovered the Brass General and was astounded by it's smoothness but great efficiency. I was confused for a bit that a smooth razor can shave so efficiently with hardly any blade feel. But it did it. Now, the Sabre comes along and I have to admit it's just as good as the BG in shave quality and feel. What I'm saying is that the BG was sharing the pedestal as Top Dog with my Rx. Yes, it's only the first shave with the Sabre, but I feel I might have to clear some space on that pedestal for it.

I am impressed and I believe it can only get better.

Fantastic review Glazedboker. Now it's even harder for me to wait another week or two for mine to show up.

Absolutely perfect. This is the exact effect I was looking for and I'm thrilled that you're enjoying it so much.
