The Blackbird is probably a bit more aggressive, but not by a large margin. I find it to be similar to the R1 in aggressiveness, but more efficient. Of course, that is just my very biased opinion.
By the way, there is a 30-day refund policy so if you ever do feel the itch to try it you can do so without risk.
Production has advanced to a reasonable degree so I will be announcing the ETA for the next batch and making preorders available for those who would like to guarantee their razor before they arrive. Keep an eye out for that announcement tonight or tomorrow.

I used to say I was a mild razor guy too. Until I learned the ways of more 'aggressive' razors and found that they delivered a smoother and more consistent shave.
It all comes down to technique.
There are days, however, that a mild EJ89 or AS-D2 (which btw isn't really all that 'mild' if you find the PERFECT angle; but is much more forgiving over a bad technique) is in order such as when my face is really dried out from a day in the wind or after a particularly rough shave the day before.
I would say a 'non-polished' bird is a GREAT teacher of proper technique (since it's so quick to give feedback in the form of drag when using it incorrectly) and my skills improved vastly having had it for the first few weeks.
So is it aggressive - Yes if you have bad form.
But NO if you've gotten the hang of the right angles.
