Blackland announces new Tradere Razors

For those who know...is it?

In my experience, no. In fact, I’ve found the OC to be slightly better for my skin than the SB. (Yes, I know, we should be shaving stubble, not skin, but the skin is still always somewhat affected.)

Really, there is not much difference at all, but I do slightly prefer my Black Oxide OC over my Machined Finish SB.

(EDIT: Just remembered that this thread is about the Blackland Tradere, but I hope this comment is still helpful.)

...the Blackbird handle is the coolest in my meager collection.

The fluting design has a wonderful feel in the hand, and just looks so uniquely classy to me.

Really looking forward to picking up the longer version (with stand) whenever it finally available.

Razordude I tend to prefer the OC over the SB with my Blackbirds. The difference is subtle, but the OC seems to be slightly more efficient, and it has a better face feel to me than the SB. Oddly enough, I've observed the opposite with some other brands.

I also prefer the long handle and love the fluted design. On first glance it appears that it might be slippery, but it is quite the opposite. 

I do have a long polished in the DFS classifieds if you're so inclined. 

Another vote for the OC, and no,  I don't find it more aggressive.  The comb is rather sharp, though not on a bad way, and the feel of the teeth on my face provides good feedback for the location of the blade and how much pressure I'm using.  The result, I think, is a smoother finish overall.  Plus, I enjoy the feel of the comb; it's unlike any other razor I own.

Yep, I sold my SB and kept my OC because I really prefer the OC in the Blackbird.

I had both and sold the SB because I thought the OC was smoother. After a while, I realized the OC was just a bit too much for me, so I traded it for a SB.

Any updates? I'm watching their site, but don't have FB. Has anything new been posted?

I haven’t shared anything since the handle was completed. But behind the scenes production is plowing along. I’ll have full razors to share very soon.

But you have to!

We’re completing some top caps and base plates shortly so I should have those pieces in the next couple weeks. The 5–axis machine that the Blackbirds and Vectors run on is currently down, but Tradere is on a different 3-axis so we can still make progress here. So the machining is actually making pretty good time, but it’s important to remember that we still have polishing, engraving, packaging, photography, etc. before we can actually sell them.
