Hello GlazedBoker, its good to see you hear as well! It is IMO, that the Blackland Osprey, is a fine piece of American engineering. IMO, it is far better then my Rex Ambassador, and my Merkur Futur. And while I do appreciate and love my vintage Fatboy razor, I'm sorry, but it just can't compete, with the sheer efficiency, that the modern Osprey can provide. To those who have super fine and thin whiskers, none of this is going to matter. But to those like myself, who have super dense, thick, course whiskers, efficiency and blade type, do matter a heck of a lot I tell you.
When I am doing a 7-day whisker shave, I can set the Osprey to setting level 8, for the WTG passes, and the Osprey will take down all the bulk without issue. Then I can do the XTG/DTG, and ATG following passes, on setting level's 4 through 5, for a nice efficient and smooth shave, for a full BBS shave. If I were doing a 2-day whisker shave, settings 4 to 5 would get it all done without issue. I am really glad that you are enjoying your Blackland Osprey razor, I love all the pictures that you share.
When I am finished using my Osprey razor, I take it apart, and give it a quick cleaning, and let it air dry for at least 16-hours, on my shave towel. Then I put it back together, and hang it on my wooden stand. Not many folks know, that this is a 3-piece adjustable razor. But people will realize its a 3-piece real quick when they see this picture!
