What do you mean "run it on the bar"?

The safety bar. Run it at a steep angle and see if it helps.

Yea I've done that. It helps a little bit not tremendously and still getting weepers and razor burn. I use that technique with the Karve and Ambassador.

BBS+ to me is better than Baby Bottom Smooth shave.  A very perfect shave.

I don't think I have ever hated a razor (or found it boring) and then, over a few weeks,
suddenly changed my mind to love it.

2ND SHAVE WITH THE OSPREY AND THE MYSTERY BLADE (3)

I used the Osprey again today and increased the settling level to 6.5 from 5.5. I used the same blade for the 3rd use and the blade was still very sharp and comfortable. As many have said, when you increase the setting level you need to change the technique a bit by increasing the shaving angle. I found that to be true today. At 5.5 I could hold the razor at a near 30 degree or neutral angle, today the angle had to be increased. Nevertheless, the shave was outstanding. My concern going into today's shave was whether or not I would have to buff as much as I did the other day. There answer was NO.
I had no irritation, no nicks, cuts, etc. Because this is relatively still new to me, I do go slow and pay attention, lest I slit my throat. So as to the razor, again, I am not an expert. The balance was excellent. The cutouts on the handle made it extremely easy to hold with no slippage. The blade was securely clamped and no issues occurred. The issue with the numbers really didn't come up because I set the razor at 6.5 and used it throughout the 3 pass shave. Clean up is a breeze.
Post shave, I am feeling a bit of a burn, but that could be the A/S or the blade being so sharp. Either way, it isn't an issue.
My next shave, I will try to change the setting wheel while shaving with wet/foamy hands and see what happens. For me, I don't know if my setting will increase beyond this level. I will experiment with a different blade the next time, less sharp, and see the results. Hope this helps those still considering the Osprey.
Stay safe and be well to all.

THIRD USE OF THE OSPREY WITH A MILD BLADE
Today I used the MY-Blades Platinum blade, which are now available. The blade is a mild blade. I started at setting 4 on the Osprey and found that the shave wasn't getting the stubble. I increased to level 5 and the razor and the blade were great. The combo was very comfortable and smooth and yet very efficient. The Osprey worked flawlessly and I made a point of changing the setting wheel with wet foamy hands. I had no issue in doing so, so that is no longer an issue for me. The head is low enough in profile that I can easily get to the hard to reach areas. The weight and balance make the razor very easy to maneuver.
I did use a different blade and soap today to see if the shave experience would waiver. It did not. I used the SV 70th Soap and A/S along with the MY-Blade Platinum blade. Another very good shave using the Osprey and a very good MY-Blades blade.
So far, after 3 shaves, the Osprey is doing very well. I will now stop using it for a few days and come back to it and see how I feel then.

Had my best shave with the Osprey yet. After several bad shaves and irritation, I decided to use a blade I've never liked (don't ask me why) .

I had the smoothest (didn't feel tuggy at all, which is new) shave and zero weepers or irritation. Used setting 8 wtg/xtg. That felt so good went up to 9 atg and it was great.

Blade was a new Astra green.
