Bar soaps vs. body wash

Anyone tried the Stirling bath soaps ?
Do they lather easily ?
Whaty about the hardness of the bar - is is soft or hard (for a hard soap, that is)

Claus, I have them.  I would say thety are reasonably hard and last a long time.  They are large.  The water here in San Diego is hard but I can bring up a nice lather with it.

I made a big order for 6 Stirling brushes (well not that big really, as the brushes are very cheap) from Rod, but didn't buy any of his shaving soaps, although I have read they are fantastic good, and very fairly priced for such a well performing shaving soap.
But I'm trying to stay with 4 North American artisanes, and then focus on them and buy dozens of soaps from them (Caties, CRSW Select, B&M and Mystic Water) so thought it would be a good idea to start collecting some of the Stirling bath soaps instead, and if they perform great just buy 12-15 of his bath soaps and enjoy them one after one

Bar soap all day. Use a shower poof, do not let bar come in direct contact with water, and keep it in a soap container outside the bathroom to keep it dry.

I use both. I mainly use Yardley, Dr. Bronner's and Stirling bar soaps. I am a big fan of the Nivea body washes. The one I am using now (can't remember the scent) leaves my skin feeling like I had just moisturized with lotion after the shower.

Soapy Bathman makes amazing body bars and shampoo bars. Both will last a long time (months) if you treat them right.

I have always wanted to try his soaps, good to hear a recommendation.

I have been using bar soap by Good Earth Spa. She makes it as natural as possible. I have been using it all the time - even take it with me travelling and I do not get dry skin anymore. My two favorites are Indian Sandalwood (smells like the wood) and Dragons Blood.

She has a store on line or through ebay. I buy in bulk so they run me $3.00 to $3.27 per bar with free shipping. I have no connection to the store but stumbled across it while researching how to make soap a couple years ago.

I've recently started using Mickey Lee Soapworks' bath bars. The scent is great!

Bar soap, because it's cheaper and also because there are not parabens.
"Marseille soap" and "alep" soap are great but it's dry too much skin for me. Unfortunaly!

Duke Cannon brought me back to bar soap exclusively. This stuff is just fantastic - lathers easy, rinses clean with a pleasant and a just so understated scent (I'm at the point in my life where I don't need to smell like fruit or flowers or a boy on the prowl). Long lasting to boot!

Bars 100%. Don't need it in a watered down form. With a bar I control the amount of water
