By my tally I have used Sheep 40 times so far this year. Today I saw the bottom of the tub. I surely don't mind monotomy when the process is so enjoyable!
That's what I need to do... keep a more definitive count of my shaves with these soaps. I feel like I go through them so quickly (and I'm sure I do). It might be nice to have a quantifiable number.
I've only used the current Macduffs once, so it'll be a good place to start (if I can remember to keep up with it). The Stirling is too far in at this point... but on the next tub, I'll try counting that one too.
I would encourage you to do that. I use a spreadsheet like approach, with columns for ShaveDate, Brush, Soap, Razor, Blade, Blades Uses, Pre, Post, Blood Level, Irritation Level, Result (CCS, DFS, BBS, etc.), and general remarks. I find out all sorts of useful things about usage and performance. It may be my age, but I find data that is easy to slice and dice is much more reliable and informative than my aging memory. Some examples:
- I used the Level 1 Dart 18 times in 2018, and 3 times since. Time to sell?
- Wholly Kaw Fougere Bouquet is my most used soap, probably in part because it has been in the den for a very long time. The donut hole in my first jar appeared after the 22nd shave
- Too much vanilla in a soap lights me up real bad.
Good luck with what ever you approach you take.
