Unlike some other reformulated classics out there, Brut remains pretty true to form.

The removal of Nitro Musks was a huge change in the Brut formula.

That is the patchouli branding of my nightmares. Upstate NY Grateful Dead-heads traveling through and a roommate with a penchant for "hippie chicks" turned me off of pure patchouli with a quick and decisive gag reflex... That's the early '90's, with the Dead's resurgence, when I used the running joke, "How do you hide money from a hippie? Put it under the soap!"

After some experimentation and some research I have come to realize that many of my favorite fragrances contain patchouli as a base note...My love for many of these frags(including Brut) has thusly changed my mind towards the idea of patchouli, but still...**shivers**

I quite like patchouli, especially mixed with other EOs.  However, even though I'm old enough to have lived through the whole Woodstock thing, I was too innocent to be part of it so don't have that BadDad gag reflex. Winking

I like patchouli too, but I would never wear it myself. I'm not a hippie (anymore, haha).

I had a GF who mixed it with tea rose oil and with her personal chemistry it was wonderful. But pure? NEVER

patchouli reminds me of dirt. gross....but when it's blended well, it doesn't bother me at all.
