I am doing well and like the Eric above said, I too wish I could shave more! Today my last purchase of 2022 arrived, some new synthetic knots from APSCo. So I will be messing around with them next month.
But to Dave's question, I am not feeling the need for more and I am really enjoying what I have.

Good to hear guys. I do have 3 soaps coming ordered back in December from Ukraine but they were on vacation and just got back to finalize the order so it will be at least a month before they come. I'm really settled for some reason this year. Maybe it's my new interest in getting some tree climbing gear.....old fart with a young mind....

I came so close to making a purchase yesterday... I have a small vacation planned for the spring and I decided I don't want to tote the whole shaving setup. So, I was thinking I should find a no brush solution.
I almost hit 'complete purchase' on a travel size of CO Bigelow soap, then I thought, "Why do this now? Spring is a long way off still". So, I'll wait until March or April. Besides, it'll give me more time to research my 'best option'.
Phew! Honestly, I don't know what got into me. Been so good for the past 4 or so months.

It'll be interesting to see what you find. I've tried a couple "no brush" soaps/creams and wasn't impressed. the last one I tried found its way into the trash shortly after trying it

My thoughts are: pack a Gillette Guard (India), a small tube of some soap, and an alum for grip and post shave use. Three items, that would probably fit in a 4" x 6" space, for a 'minimal carry'.(01-10-2023, 01:22 PM)mrdoug Wrote: I came so close to making a purchase yesterday... If I do CO Bigelow (Proraso Green), it can be used with or without a brush and is known to be a serviceable option which has been around for a long long time. It's versatile, which I like (as I do own a small, cheap travel brush). But, I'll still put in the time and research since I don't need it asap.
I've also read a bit about Musgo Real being great without or without a brush. So other options do exist.
To be continued...

As we have no real rules for this restraint, I think that you can make this purchase and not consider yourself "Out." This kind of purchase is itself out of the ordinary kinds of purchases we normally make. So, mrdoug, even though you didn't ask my opinion, I'll give it to you! Purchasing brushes, soaps, razors etc for the den is what we are trying to curb, but a purchase to make a trip/vacation lighter and more enjoyable, I think that is fine in my book!

That said, as I have time, I'll still likely wait. I'm likely to grab the CO Bigelow in the end anyway, but planning and researching can be fun and isn't an actual purchase.
