Tabactober Returns
Yesterday's shave was so good that my razor met little resistance today. I used only two passes, WTG-ATG on my cheeks and only ATG on my neck and the results are outstanding. Very close comfortable shave - fewer passes led to no irritation and very little burn from the splash. I used PAS again as I'm becoming enamored of this scent. The boar felt great again. It's hard to imagine it getting better, but I think it will - this was only the eighth use.
Prep: Chatillon Lux Butter
Soap: Tabac
Brush: Stirling Boar
Razor: Rockwell 6s R6
Blade: voskhod ??

October 6, 2017 - my Birthday Shave

Razor - Gillette Black Beauty - U4
Soap - Mystic Water - Windjammer
AS - Old Spice Original
Brush - Wild West Brushworks - 30mm Tuxedo

Overall, a good shave. For some reason, this Black Beauty doesn't tend to shave as well as the other one I have. Ended up with more irritation from the alum block than I'm used to and have some slight razor burn. Still, a good shave was had...especially for a razor that only gets used one or twice a year!

How deep is your love...The Brothers Gibb...s. I have three Gibbs adjustables, this one had some issues, most importantly a missing spring. I replaced the red jewel and repainted numbers so at least it looks better. The shave on its mildest and only setting with a Personna 74 was as easy as you'd imagine, and with attention to angle efficient enough for one day's beard. The No 14 with a German Wilkinson finished the head shave and although balance is not as good as the heavier handled 16 it shaves equally well.
