I give anyone credit for putting together these videos - not something I could do.

I don't find a need to bash a person - if I don't like their videos I just stop watching. Do I have to agree with everything they say or do? Not a chance but I won't bash them because they load differently or start shaving on the left side instead of the right side.,

With all of the division in the world I am not going to let a shave video drag me down to the point I am spending time trash talking someone. Just don't watch.

I don't like watching shaving videos so I never read threads about them.

I find them nice background noise for when doing things. They also introduce me to soaps I wouldn't heard of otherwise. I also may enjoy some of their commentary

totally agree here. there's better things to do in life than complain about how someone shaves their own face.. if you don't like what they're doing, then quit watching them!

Geez, why is it fun to bash u-tubers on "some" sites? Here is my answer to your question.

The biggest site is truly a closed society in the sense that all information you need about anything can be found directly on that site. There is no worldly reason for you to venture off to u-tube to find a video. But now that you are armed with all of the information you will ever need about shaving, and venture off to u-tube, feel free to walk up and plant your flag of ideology and how much better your info is (including your source on the big site) and how bla bla bla bad the u-tuber is.

Which then drives the question, why are you watching it anyway?

To put it another way, I seriously doubt any member of ISIS has taken the time to watch Mel Gibson's movie The Passion of the Christ. If they did, you could surely bet on dissenting views from its members. As a closed society, they have no concept of objectively viewing something that really is at odds with their own views. Unless of course the ONLY reason for them to watch it is to blast every facet of the show.

Because I live in a rural area and my bandwidth is limited, this means I dont really watch videos. That doesnt mean I dont think they are not worthy or dont have a place in shaving. They do. I cant make videos because I cant take criticism very well. This makes guys like BadDad better than I am. I did post one video, but pulled it from this site shortly after posting to avoid any hairsplitting overly critical responses. But the few people like Freddy that actually viewed it, enjoyed it. I think this is because they can watch a video/show that differs from their viewpoint without declaring "jihad" directly after seeing it.

Yeah I wouldn't take criticism well every and I'm super shy to start.

I thought about making some for just my friend, but I don't have any equipment to do so. I do send him pictures of lather though but he doesn't really want to take the step into traditional shaving though seems interested

I watch different youtube channels, most of the time if they are using a product I am interested in I will watch the video just to hear their opinion. I rarely watch entire videos, mostly because they bore me. The only time I have ever shut one off lately because of disagreeing is when TSE was talking about new soap companies charging $5 an ounce and how it that is ridiculous while using a $185 razor. Seemed a little contradicting to me.

I never understood personal attacks on guys who make the videos. If you don't agree or like them, don't watch.

I don't watch them as much as I used to but I do still enjoy some YouTube shave videos once in a while. My favorite is Shave Tank these days but I've watched most of them. I don't know why others care if people watch them or not. If someone enjoys watching them then watch away.

I actually thought of doing some vids too just to help those who are starting out, but there are so many nasty folks out there behind their monitors who are so quick to pass judgement on others, it's just not worth the aggravation.

The one thing I don't totally get is when people on forums say it is weird to watch another man shaving.

Yeah, maybe, but being a regular on a grooming forum is kind of weird too. I'd expect a comment like that more from some of my friends who are content to use a Gillette Fusion.

Like a lot of other people, I got into these videos when I was new to wet shaving, and I found them helpful. Now, I mostly just watch them for entertainment. For example, it's interesting to hear what Eric Burgos has to say about cars, coffee, and music. Plus, he generally uses interesting products. I couldn't care less about judging his technique.
