Your thoughts on OneBlade

I have extremely coarse and dense stubble, yet still a smiling blade in this mild razor can still give me BBS in 2-3 passes. If I'm shaving on 1 day of growth then 2 passes is all I need. With multiple days of growth, then I've found that a full 3 passes works best for me.

Regarding pressure while using the razor, it simply takes practice. To be honest, I've been using pressure with all of my closed comb razors for years now. The difference with the OneBlade is that the pressure needs to be more toward the back of the razor instead of the front.

I firmly believe that SE shaving more so than DE shaving is technique dependent. The rigidity of the blade leads to less forgiveness. As your technique imoroves you will see closer shaves along with longer blade life.

I looked at my blade and it also has a smile in it. is this normal? has anyone confirmed with oneblade whether or not this is how the blade is supposed to look when loaded?

I fired off an email to oneblade regarding the blade smile. I'll let everyone know what they say when I get a response.

I think I read somewhere that OneBlade told somebody it was supposed to be like that. I call BS. The first few thousand didn't have a smile and on their website they talk about angle and blade gap. This is what they say "We found the exact right gap to be 0.65 millimeters. See the diagram below." They can't have a smile designed and have an even blade gap across the blade at the same time. Just my opinion.

What do you all mean by the blade 'smiling'? I'm not following.

Pete123, It has a slight curve to it when loaded like it doesn't lay perfectly flat.

I actually agree with RSP1 in saying that this is probably not normal....especially if previous batches did not also have the smile.

I'd imagine the blade smile affects the shave. I wonder if this is the issue celestino was having with his..I find it very odd that he was getting good shaves with one he borrowed, but not when he bought one new from OneBlade..
