In my view, the $299 is a deal for the V2, though not the V1.

Got a little tied up with work, will probably check with them next week.

My serial number is > 10000.

So far, I am extremely pleased with shaves (2) I got.

I received a private message from tsimmns asking about modifying a Gem blade to use in a V2 Genesis.  Unfortunately he had me on an ignore list so I thought I would give my thoughts on modifying the Gem blades for the V2 Genesis.  While the V1 only required the spine on the Gem blade to be removed, the V2 requires the cutouts on the side of the Gem blades be modified to lock the blade in place.  I discovered the process on a B&B thread here.

I use the 5/32 punch from this kit on Amazon.

It takes a few times to get the hang of where to punch the blade but once mastered in only takes a minute or so per blade. Personally I find that the Feather blades give me a better shave but the Gem PTFE blades last longer.

In the end I wanted to be able to have a choice on blades. I hope this helps those that are curious about the process.

Will the GEMs work if a V2 if you don't do this?

The Gems don't snap into place on my V1, though they work very well.

The Gems will work without doing this but the fit is not as tight as the V1 so there is a little blade movement. If one just wanted to try the Gem blade I would not go through the effort. If you were going to use them regularly, I think it is worth the effort.

I just got the OneBlade Genesis, and the first shave was very promising. I’ve tried just about everything over the last 4-5 years and still get a small amount of irritation near my adam’s apple. I didn’t get that with the OneBlade today.

That's awesome. It's always nice to find a good solution after looking for a long time.

OneBlade is having a bunch of different sales between now and Christmas. Each one is for couple of days.

The best one for a Genesis is 25% off on orders over $250 and is good Dec 17th and 18th. Code is HOLIDAY25.

PM me with your email if you want to know about other deals and I'll forward the email to you. They have the email set up where I can't copy and paste.

I am loving my Genesis, only issue is that 2 shaves per blade that costs ~70c is forcing it to be a luxury experience!!

Truth told prefer the V1 to V2 Can get brainlessly fast shaves without ANY danger of knicking adams apple using V1 whereas have to exercise some care getting bbs neck shave with a V2. Brainless fast shaves are only reason own 2 of these as there is no pleasure derived from using them. Just a utilitarian tool - albeit a good one.

@"iamsms" Check out this post Sourav. It tells how to get plenty of shave out of the Feather 10's:
