This is hilarious.

I was trying to live and let live here as obviously some people liked the razor, but $399 and the line of horse manure is too much.

Shark jumped... Full blown Fonzi wearing the leather jacket and all.

I can't stop literally laughing out loud reading about this this evening and my wife keeps asking me what's so funny.

Hahahahahaa!

I love my one blade for the 180 paid new on Craigslist.

400?

Scoff.

But, to each their own. I'd never denigrate another man's purchase, unless it's Bose. Smile

From sale at $199 to $400. Hmmmmmm

Unless they were dishonest about the steel used up to this point, I'm not sure that they can improve it. As I've mentioned several times, the steel advertised for the first razor is the same steel commonly used in Orthopedic implants.

Has anyone heard of an issue with the OneBlade specifically related the steel used? I haven't.

If you read their literature, you knew this 33% price increase was coming, it was just a matter of time. In Jan, 16 they signaled that the price of the $1,000 1 - 101 numbered collectibles would increase based upon remaining stock. And if they didn't sell, they didn't care the price would rise. They were never meant to go cheap. Then came the blackblade at $2500. The first  1- 101 are sold out.

Read between the lines. When I first read that it signaled to me the regular MSRP price would increase. Of course, the product is about always on sale and I feel bad for anyone who actually paid $299 or who will pay $399. Its no different than sales we see all the time in Malls where products are, more or less, always on sale, meaning there really is no sale as the sale price is the real price. Think MSRP on cars. No one pays MSRP unless the car is rare and highly sought.

It not meant to sell cheap. Thats not their market. "Many balk at the $300 price point.  But Tod is very up-front and specific about OneBlade’s targeted market.  “ ... an older ... executive type who doesn’t have an issue with price ...”  “Enthusiast” wet shavers ... in the end a somewhat limited market for the OneBlade."

It's all there is black and white and has been for a long time. My read on that is that they really don't care if its not bought hobbyists - not their target audience.

the market will flesh it out. I don't see them selling as many razors @ $400 as they did when it was at $300, personally.

After claiming being the best razor in the world, now it's even better... in the world. Better material. Shave experience being even more superlative. No SE or DE can compare to OB. Gift of 35% off before higher price. Blah blah blah. Everything is arrogant in this email. I bought an OB. Sold it. Won't buy one again. Fantastic razor but OB manager attitude pisses me off.

Call me hater, call me cheap but for the first time in my life I actually think a company like this one deserves to go belly up and usually I wish to see companies grew, not this one... I will pop a champagne bottle when that happens
