Your favourite artisan bath soap maker ?

Crowne & Crane makes a wonderful pink rose bath soap. It smells like the garden after a rain. We got a full month of showers out of it.

I finally broke down and ordered some Stirling bath soaps for the house. I opened Vanilla this morning and gave it an initial test run in the shower. GREAT scent, as if there was ever any doubt, and excellent lathering. Left me feeling very clean and moisturized, unlike the store-bought, chemical-laden soaps I am accustomed to...

With only 2 people in my house, myself and my 12-year old daughter, I'm curious to see how long this lasts as a shower soap. We have been using some locally produced all natural soaps that cost slightly more and don't leave me feeling nearly as well moisturized, and those bars last us about a month. I guess we shall see how long a bar of Stirling lasts us.

Regardless, I think the post-wash moisturizing and the fantastic scents in the shower are worth the $4/bar pricetag...

Crowne & Crane is on my list of bath soaps to try as well...everything they make that I have tried has been very impressive, so no reason to expect anything less from their bath soaps...

I wholeheartedly agree BadDad. Stirling's bath soaps are my favorite by far. The lather and moisturizing properties are excellent and with so many scents to choose from, you can't go wrong. Also, as with everything Stirling sells, they are very affordable.

Yup, that about says it all for me when it comes to Stirling bath soaps.  I am using their peach scented soap right now.  The scent is subtle but wonderful and the feel and moisturizing are superb.

Stirling. Barbershop and Black Cherry my favorite.

My favorite Stirlings bath soap scents are Rosemary Mint and Piacenza for warmer weather, Autumn Glory and Ozark Mountain for colder.

Both Stirling and Mickey Lee Soapworks make outstanding bath soaps in my experience. Definitely been wanting to pick up some Chiseled Face stuff, as well, and probably will soon.

I'm using Crowne & Crane right now, energy bar which is mainly lime I think, its as good as any of the artisan soaps I've tried and I've tried many. I'm really happy with it.

Bob is right on. Mutton tallow and lanolin makes amazing soap (shave soap as well, but that's a story for another thread). I love the Electric Sheep during the summer.

BadDad make sure you keep them dry when not in use, and don't leave them sitting in a puddle or in the shower stream. That will definitely help keep them lasting longer. They aren't milled and there are no detergents to harden them, so they will go faster if they get soggy. Also, using a loofah, sponge, or washcloth rather than going directly to skin will also extend the life. A cheap-o loofah will make them last for weeks, and will also make them lather like crazy.
