Favorite...Lav Sublime...wish it came it their new base though..
Least Favorite...all the others.. I have not been impressed with their scents. To my nose they always seem too powdery and soapy smelling..
noce di cocco...which I had high hopes for...smelled more like bad, cheap suntan oil than pure coconut...

I concur - it’s interesting that Sri has not just re-released old scents in his newer bases but created new scents with each new base he’s developed. I have mixed feelings about that because some of his original scents are really excellent (to my nose] as well as some of the donkey milks. Who knows what the future holds?

Well, I guess I do to a limited extent. This baby is on deck for tomorrow, it was the very first Wholly Kaw soap I bought.

I would guess it's because many wouldn't buy the new base if in a scent they already had so it would stifle sales in that way. Just guess

In the new Siero base, I like Rebelle a lot. This homage to David Bowie is very refined. I am less satisfied with Fougere Mania and Entropy Man is somewhere in the middle of my satisfaction range. Others recommend Timmerman (at Pasteur's) but I have not tried it. In Bufala, I like King of Bourbon. In the base prior to that (Donkey Milk) I love Lav Sublime and King of Oud has really grown on me.

Based on what I read here and based on my renewed affection for King of Oud, I am going to give Chypre Rose Concerto another go. Cuero Oscuro is definitely a visit to a leather store and when I am in the mood I enjoy it.

I have seen a reference or two to YRP. If this acronym stands for Yuzu Rose Patchouli it is not a Wholly Kaw product. It is from Declaration Grooming and is a collaboration with Chatillon Lux. I do not believe WK has produced it.

Actually...other vendors routinely release some of their old scents in their new bases...DG, GD, Tallow + Steel and B&M among others...I imagine they see no sales reduction problem and are making money from these releases as obviously there is customer demand..

It is a Chatillon Lux scent, yes. That part you got right, but it did appear in Wholly Kaw's Donkey Milk base as well. Tallow and Steel also did a run of it as a reddit group buy. The vast majority of them are from Declaration Grooming and are still being produced today.

Even as I was writing that post I knew that there was a theoretical possibility of a Chatillon Lux YRP collaboration with other soap makers.  Thanks for the correction. So there are three different ones extant.

I gave a guess. You gave what you imagine. I suppose only Sri knows his reasons.

Actually....I said nothing about Siri. I supplied indisputable proof about how other vendors in the marketplace handle this exact issue. You supplied unsubstantiated opinion..which of course you’re absolutely entitled to..

I said only the maker knows. Never said you referred to him.
Have a good evening
