Of late, my favorites include:  Los Jabones de Joserra Rodrigo de Jerez, MacDuffs Backcountry Bourbon, The Club Tibetan Temple, Stirling Baker Street, Wholly Kaw Rebelle and The Club Chasing The Dragon.

Longer term, other favorites include:  Declaration Grooming/Chatillon Lux Yuzu Rose Patchouli, B&M Le Grand Chypre, Gentleman's Nod No. 11 Vincent, Noble Otter The Noir et Vanille, Noble Otter Lonestar, Australian Private Reserve Ozymandias, Wholly Kaw King of Oud and B&M Beaudelaire.

Conspicuously absent from the lists given above are soaps from Grooming Dept. I have quite a few of those. I really like Mumtaz, Valencia, Otium and Lavender from the newest runs and Sandalwood Fig Musk and After the Fire from the older runs.

That’s a lot I just realized but they are all so good

I definitely agree with the quality over quantity sentiments when it comes to scents. I’ve been turned off some artisans by their complex scents.
Mike’s natural has the right approach for my taste. His Hungarian Lavender is the first artisan soap I bought, and still one of my very favorites - just one high quality EO.

MdC is does a good job too. La Pierre Lucien’s original is another fav, a great herbs de province take.

I think Ethos probably offers the best simple but elegant scents out there right now...including a number of one note scents...

When I think of my favorite soap scents, these first come to mind (not in any particular order)...

Colonia by Asylum Shaveworks (SV)
Manna di Sicilia by SV
West Indies by Tallow + Steel
Glastonbury by Stirling
Varen by Stirling
Stirling Green by Stirling

(ok, the last three are loaded with oakmoss, and I am a sucker for oakmoss heavy soaps (or perfume)).

You already happen to know some of my favorites, Erchy, but here’s my current top 3 anyway:

• WhollyKaw Dance of Agrumes
• The Shaving Shop Club El Gaucho
• Barrister and Mann Beaudelaire

The fact that none of those are very new says a lot about the quality of the scents. Numerous others are really up there, but that’s why there’s also a top 10, a top 20… Smile

Today I used Grooming Department L'Avventura.  At the top in my book, along with A&E SoCal Hipster, A&E Vacanza Romana, DRH Arlington, and T+S Indian Bay, it's in the top league of scents that I love using.
