It’s not the threading but the space on the bottom of the baseplate a wide top handle will not fit the opening is 8.45 mm

I asked in the other thread and he said an H&S but mine doesn't fit my Yates......

Any idea why it would fit his but not yours? I may have read that Yates updated the threading?

It's not the threads that is at issue. It's the width where the handle comes into contact with the base plate. Maybe the P076 handle is slightly narrower........

Polishing might make difference... His handle might be polished more with coarse grid.

The Yates handles and top plates are threaded to 10/32. So a handle threaded M5x.8 should fit. But a Yates handle will not fit M4x.8 handles unless you force it which is not recommended. I asked Jake awhile back if he would start making handles and top plates to M5x.8 and he said maybe eventually.

An update; received my Yates H plate, head only, today, which was quicker than I had thought. Good news is that my Blackbird handles fit it, quite well, which is a relief as I don't have another handle to accommodate the head with its limited spacing underneath the plate. I'll try this for a few days, or so to see what happens, but I don't see it being an issue as the head and handle were quite snug. The only minor issue is that while threading the handle to the head, it seemed a bit 'looser' than I had wanted. However, when completely tightened, there is no play or movement.
Let's see what happens. If things don't work out, I'll probably have to modify another handle I have here or just order the Yates handle.
By the way, the head is a very interesting design and I've always liked the look and feel of machined parts, razors in this instance. Smile

My H plate and top cap arrived today and I gave it a spin this evening.

It reminded me a lot of my Rockwell 6S, but more efficient and maybe a bit more aggressive.

Love the utilitarian stonewash finish. I paired it with my old Razorock handle that fit perfectly.

I could tell right away it’s a winner. Really enjoyable shave. Can’t wait to use it more it the coming weeks!

I have had absolutely stellar shaves with the Yates Precision razor with all plates... My Favorite plate is the H-plate, smooth yet very efficient. The stonewash look is beautiful. The biggest surprise to me is the handle, it actually works amazingly well for me (I was set on getting the heavier beefier handles now I'm not so sure) the Handle is very light (it balances the Razor head very well) and I don't mind the length. Jake, did a wonderful job on machining these razors to very tight tolerances. All in all, it exceeded my expectations and now very interested in what the future holds for YPM.
