Dave in KY Actually my Yates H plate holds its own very well with the Diamondback (Yates more efficient) and my Ti Wolfman 145 (Yates is smoother). Perhaps Timeless 95 (head bigger) or CG L3 (blade chatter so not as smooth) are also worthy contenders. I don’t think I’d put any other of my 3 piece razors up against the Yates. Also the Yates finish is stonewashed and it’s priced 1/2 to 1/3 that of these others.

Hope your “baby” comes home soon. I can’t wait for his future high efficiency plate and eventual Titanium offering - my H plate would love the company.

I got better shaves from the H than my diamondback which is why it got sold but everyone is different. Yep, I'll probably get the aggressive plate too because........ curiosity.

From what I’ve read it sounds as though it could be similar to a Timeless 0.95 in use and this prompted my purchase.

It’ll take a few weeks before it will arrive in the U.K., so I won’t be able to try it for myself for some time.

In the meantime, I was wondering whether my assumption is correct and, if not, what razors the M and hybrid plate would equate to in terms of both smoothness and efficiency?
Did you have received it?
How does compares to Timeless .95?

As vates has mentioned, the M plate (and the hybrid plate) is not like the Timeless 0.95 at all in terms of efficiency.

The Yates gives a slightly smoother shave and is the result is closer to the 0.68 Timeless the the 0.95. All three razors (Yates, 0.68 and 0.95 Timeless) all have a place in my collection and I love the variety the Yates brings to the table. It's a really well made razor that performs excellently and is available for a bargain price compared to the cost of a Timeless. Smile

I believe Yates is going to send me a razor to pass around DFS when they get more in stock.
