Quite a quick and pleasant shave. The new to me hybrid plate performed similarly to a regular M plate. The OC side is somewhat more efficient but not to a prominent margin.  Noticed the weird smell (wet brass). Went for almost three passes, DFS+++. My skin feels healthy and refreshed. Love Tabac.
The new stubby handles (pun intended) really well. However, the weight is something to get used to.
Eagerly waiting for the ‘H’ plates to become available again. Meanwhile, I’m pretty happy and well shaved.

Razor: Yates H Plate/ WCS Handle
Blade: Wizamet (1)
Brush: Dragonsbeard Synthetic
Soap: Dragonsbeard V2
AS: Humphrey's Alcoholado Maravilla 70
AS: Dragonsbeard SFS

Man have I MISSED my Yates "H" Plate that came back to me yesterday. Shave today brought back to me how much I love the shave from this razor and it was with the V1 cap as the other cap s at another members using the Hybrid plate. Much as I hate to I'm shipping the "H" plate to them to get some shaves with it before sending everything back to me so my world can return to balance again. Jake YatesPrecision hurry up with that restock as I will need a backup and people are clamoring for razors  Big Grin

PS - One thing I hope changes in the future is a way to use other handles with the base plate that doesn't accept MANY of my handles due to the stepped in space on the bottom where the handle makes contact with the base plate.

3 Days growth, Voskhod on 5th use, the lather could have been better... the Yates Hybrid didn’t care. I still got one amazingly close and extremely smooth shave.

This is easily one of the best razors I’ve used for my beard/skin situation.

Still have the hybrid in my regular rotation 1 year after getting it. Truly a solid performer!

A very pleasant and relaxing shave with the Hybrid Yates, as usual. 2.5 passes and DFS+++. The skin feels great.
They say the “H” plates shall be back in stock pretty soon. Oh, the suspense.

From what I’ve read it sounds as though it could be similar to a Timeless 0.95 in use and this prompted my purchase.

It’ll take a few weeks before it will arrive in the U.K., so I won’t be able to try it for myself for some time.

In the meantime, I was wondering whether my assumption is correct and, if not, what razors the M and hybrid plate would equate to in terms of both smoothness and efficiency?
Did you have received it?
How does compares to Timeless .95?

The M plate is not similar to Timeless 0.95. It's comparatively mild/smooth but definitely a bit less efficient. The H plate would probably be more similar, but I haven't been able to check it just yet.

I tend to use the H plate more often than the hybrid as I was an early adopter with a SN under 10. I can use it with the original long handle or the shorter thicker handle to get very comfortable yet efficient shaves. Like Dave in KY I have successfully used that CG/WCS collaboration 100 mm SS handle or like Shavemd use a 3.5" CG handle depending on my mood. The stonewashed finish is actually quite nice to behold along with the subtle logo on the top cap. This is a winner especially at its price point and I often reach for it over some of my much higher priced or rarer razors - it easily has stayed within my den's top 3 for the last year or so.

Mine has been out on loan to 2 different members and is now on it's way back and I will now say that I have missed it BIG time but wanted the members to take their time and try it. Come home to Daddy sweetheart  Cool

I should say both members enjoyed it very much but it didn't dethrone their favorites at the moment. It was going up against some serious competition though: A Wolfman and  2020 Diamondback so that says something about this razor.
