For daily shaving the M plate is enough for me as it is very smooth. If I have a couple days growth, which is rare these days, the H plate makes short work of it. Better option? Get both!  Big Grin

I prefer the hybrid as my daily razor here are the weights on my scale
Top cap 17g
Hybrid baseplate 21g (Brass)
High level baseplate 19g
I have mine on a Charcoal Good’s Prism handle[Image: AsQ1LHO.jpg]

Do you find the handle secure enough without screwing all the way up?

The handles made by charcoal goods have a narrow top and fit between the space to tighten completely

The stonewashed finish of the razor head makes this look like a complete Frankenrazor when paired with other handles, unless someone can demonstrate otherwise. Hopefully a newer handle version can come out that is a bit more standard in diameter / circumference. This should be considered before those gorgeous razor stands are finalized.

Oh that makes sense, I’ll keep them in mind for a new handle.

How have people been enjoying this razor? Any comparisons to the current popular razors like Carbon or H&S?

Looks like a restock of razors and parts is coming soon.

I have had mine for awhile now and it is very smooth I have mine on a Charcoal Good’s handle and use the hybrid as a daily driver and the more aggressive baseplate when I skip a day or two

AQU Essrbc11 I enjoy the H plate nearly as much as the hybrid/DC plate as a daily shaver. I get a very efficient and smooth shave that is just comfortable. Compared to those others you’ve got a great razor in Yates for a significant cost savings. You may want to get the excellent Yates travel case or stand with your savings.

If the 4” handle is a little long Shavemd is correct as the tapered opening of a Charcoal Goods 3” or 3.5” fits perfectly. I have used my Lupo handle which fits as it is a copy of the original Charcoal Goods Bishop handle (shame on IB). Since I find the Lupo a “draggy” and uncomfortable shave rather than PIF it I’ve repurposed this 3.5” handle for the Yates. The Lupo’s DLC finish or aluminum silver or black colors go fine with Yates Stonewashed finish. So until Yates comes out with more handle options you have some options.

A 89 mm handle is on the way according to Jake. Also per Instagram the brass hybrid base plates are almost finished.
