If it's anywhere near a 1.45/1.55 in smoothness/efficacy ratio, then it's one of the best razors out there
For me the H plate compares to a WR2 1.35+ gap. It is more efficient than the 135 but less than the 145. The H plate is as smooth as these high gap 135/145 and is a fraction of the cost. I don’t think any razor can beat Yates on price given it’s smoothness and efficiency. The less expensive Karve or Razorocks (ie GC or Lupo) are just that - less expensive - but not as efficient or smooth. I am actually preferring and reaching for the Yates over Timeless that’s how much I am enjoying the Yates.
