There isn’t a Karve plate that comes close to the Yates H plate in combined smoothness and efficiency but I’d say the G plate is slightly more efficient than the Yates with the Yates being exponentially smoother and also more nimble.

I have tried the Karve E, F, and G plates and none come close to the Yates H plate in the smoothness to efficiency ratio. Plus, Jake’s prices are crazy for the quality you get.

I am hoping Jake releases an H+ plate soon!

Absolutely agreed!

The Yates H plate is definitely the biggest sleeper razor right now in my opinion and I can only see it getting better with the H+ plate and hopefully a copper and titanium version!

I use the hybrid plate as a daily driver and the more efficient plate when I want a smooth BBS that will last, I have had the Karve D,E & F plate in SB and OC and never could get the smoothness combined with the efficiency I get from the Yates. Jake should have more razor up on his site shortly, along with new handle choices. I love using my Yates as much today as I did when I wrote my first post Almost a year ago

Ok Jake YatesPrecision I would happily be on the list. As far as a EH plate and a Titanium razor count me in.

Like others have said the Karve G may be as efficient as a Yates H plate but the Yates plates are much smoother and a comfortable shave is (nearly) always expected. Who said it is a "sleeper razor" as we all know and love it and it seems to be disappearing quickly from the website when they become available. Besides WE all know about it already.

BTW YatesPrecision if you are producing copper and brass handles ... what is the reason - will there be corresponding top caps and a variety of base plates also (yes I know the hybrid is in brass as I enjoy it often) ? Just curious

Which WR2 gap is comparable to the H plate in terms of efficacy?

I would put it in the same level as my WR2 1.45 which is the only WR2 I kept

It shaves very similar to Wolfman WR2 high gap like Mark said.
I just shaved side by side with my WR2 1.55
Very close efficiency and similar blade feeling.
I like WR2 more, because it is polished, and sliding on face easier.
Yates Stonewashed is more like brushed or machine finish.
