Thanks tomas1870 for sharing your thoughts.
I am approaching the 6th month now…and no reaction to messages (before the announcement) so quite painful. I agreed on the last train topic ;-)

Much appreciated.

I was at the meetup yesterday. For those who are interested, Jake is still responsible for clearing his current backlog, which he is diligently working through. Matt and RE bought the Yates brand as well as the CNC machine that produced the Merica and the Winning razors, but Jake still has other machines that he is using to work his backlog.

While RE bought the brand, part of the deal was that Jake would continue to be involved. Likely on consulting with new models and fine-tuning the process at RE, and I do know he was in town this week helping Matt choose a new machinist to take over running the machine. Matt also mentioned that it was important to RE that they continue to represent the brand well, as it was Jake's Namesake, which tells me they'll be careful with what they do with the price points moving forward as that was important to Jake.

Matt and Jake have been working on a new, less expensive, REX aluminum model, the Paige, which is what Matt's new CNC machine will be focused on for the next few months while Jake clears his backlog. But at some point this year, they do plan to start producing Yates models once again in Phoenix as well.

How much does anyone think the cost of the YPM razors increase under this model?

Hopefully RE/Rex can achieve the same level of quality that Yates produced. I've never seen a complaint about the quality of a Yates product, but I can't say the same for RE/Rex.

congrats, Razor Emporium....

I think it was a good move to finish out the back log of razors before opening up any new razor ordering to set things right from the start.
