I for one cant wait to buy one. Its an affordable option to a razor i cant afford. Frankly I cant afford any of the following originals:

Wolfman (any)
Tradere (original)
Kirby
Rubberset 400 brush

The fact that i can now go turn to Razorock for their Lupo, Blackland for their Tradere and Razor Emporium for their Ambassador, Pearl for their Flexi , PAA for their Prismatic and DOC and Switchback 400, and now Yaqi for their take on Vector. I love the fact that all these companies have released their versions of some highly sought after and expensive originals at a price i can afford.

All of these companies have taken something that isnt theirs, tweaked it and made it their own. I appreciate it and spend my money where i can and when i can.

Edited* to add.

Read my previous posts. Do NOT think that this Yaqi is in any way a clone, copy, or facsimile of the Vector. It is just a razor that takes an AC blade where they stole the cut screw post idea from Blackland. They don't shave alike or perform anywhere close to each other. Just remember that you get what you pay for, and in this case, you might get less.

Ya know, I have to concede, while I sit here saying I wouldn't buy the knockoff which steals intellectual property, I did buy the original Lupo. Furthermore, the 70 and 90 variants are quite popular.

I don't know if these new versions are exact replicas of the Wolfman, or new branches of their own design. However, the original was intended to copy the Wolfman... And I bought one. I'm a bit ashamed of owning that. Mea culpa. Not my best day, I suppose.

Edit: The more I think about it, I wonder if the 6-month wait is intentional or just a byproduct of their manufacturing. I won't feel as bad if they are doing it on purpose to create a higher value for the product. But I just don't know what the truth is.

Considering the list of razors you have listed and pictured in your den, I don't see how you can say you can't afford a Vector. If you want to buy the Yaqi, then buy it but don't cry you can't afford it. We all spend on what we want.

Not crying at all. Im stating a financial fact. My den doesnt consist of any razor that i paid more than $150 for or anything that i didn’t barter for. I had to buy, sell and trade for each individual item and i accumulated them over a course of 3 + years not instantly in one transaction. I put alot of hard work in my collection, I cant by an original wolfman at $500+ in one simple transaction or $1000+ for a BBS1, I’m not crying about it, merely explaining that a person in my position and there are many of us who just cant whip out the card and say “charge it “. So I settle on what i can afford and that is a copy, a knockoff, a “inspired” by cheaper option.

I'm not talking about a wolfman or a BBS1. You state you can't afford a vector that on Black Friday sales for $150 when you have plenty In your Den that you could barter for if you really wanted one as you state you have for your collection. I stand by my comment that we all spend on what we want to spend and you could barter or trade to get one if you wanted to. If you choose to buy this one then by all means buy it but it's not a matter of you could not acquire the original if you so chose to. I'll leave it at that

Yep, the more I research it, the more I'm convinced that the Wolfman is a marketing strategy. A free market will only take so much, I guess... The Lupo is proof of that, lol. Heck, the Lupo might be good Karma.

Isn't the BBS-1 a discontinued, limited run from a manufacturer not in business? If so, it's the same as a Tech. Keep shaving history alive, keep the dreams of these manufacturers alive... Or something like that?

Additionally, I said I'm ok with tech ripoffs because their history and out of production. Still, if you want to talk about an evil business, look no further than Gillette. While your shopping for the Lupo, toss a Yaqi tech in the cart to double your karma.

Your right, if i had to have it and must acquire it, yes i can trade, sell , barter my entire collection or hell even recycle my aluminum cans and count my pennies. I could go so far and tell the family that its rice and beans for awhile because meat is mighty expensive. Lol but im a little more practical than that. I stick to the knock offs or significantly discounted used one. I love and appreciate the dialog.
