I only own the S1 at this point and love its smoothness and the fact it can be used for me at least, with a variety of blades including Feathers. It does sound like the Wunderbar is more efficient, but if it did not have the same smooth face feel, I'd not be interested.

For me, Wunderbar is indeed more efficient but S1 is definitely smoother and more forgiving. As for beauty, I must be fair that the Wunderbar is really beautiful to my eyes. I would liken it's aggressiveness and feel with the Fine slant.

I appreciate your input on that. The Wunderbar is indeed very affordable but it'd be hard for me to justify the purchase since the S1 is solid for me.

I like both the S1 and the Wunderbar very much. Stunning stuff, both of them. Both are really good looking razors that give a real good shave. The Wunderbar is more aggressive, but also more efficient and shaves deeper. You have to pay attention while shaving though, but then it is a very nice razor. The S1 is more forgiving, and can be more comfortable, yet still give good results. The largish head of the Wunderbar may take getting used to, but it will clear the upperlip with as much ease as the rather slimmer head of the S1.
My beardgrowth needs a daily shave although I shave every other day. With multiple days growth, the S1 is a three-pass razor: reducing pass after pass until nothing is left. I need two passes with it, often three. The Wunderbar will give me a socially acceptable shave with one pass and three days growth.
The S1 I could use as a daily razor, the Wunderbar I can't: it shaves too deep for my skin to enjoy more than two-three shaves in a row with it.
Have a nice day!

Wunderbar is currently in stock again. Better hurry if you want one.

Seems to be the general consensus. The S1 is just flat out the best slant I've ever used.

I'm only two shaves in with my Wunderbar (Feather blade), but I think it's going to be my favorite slant.

Exactly how I feel. They are both great razors though. I find the S1 almost impossible to get nicks/weepers with though and it is really smooth. The borrowed wunderbar I used needed a little more attention and I felt was a little more aggressive, but was still smooth.

The Wunderbar is a safety razor? If so, single or double?

It's a double-edge slant head safety razor made by RazoRock.
