There were even some surprises, twists and hysteria - how many times did you fall asleep during a shave-off or rather while "writing it up".  The shaving landscape has exploded in the nearly 18 months of the thread (the longest and busiest one ever on that site) with many new stainless razors and now an uptick in adjustables being made. I am looking forward to adding my 2 cents and fear I will be emptying my wallet of several dollars due to excellent "enabling" you claim not to participate in. Haha ... lets go gang. And may the sharpest razor win the day !

LOL AJ yeah I remember falling asleep at the keyboard a few times !  Looking back that's some funny stuff right there.  Yes as we have discussed it was time for an update on the razors since so many have and will be released.. as always it's only one mans opinion and everyone has to interpret the Shave Offs for themselves but I have some thoughts on that subject I'll post up in the outline that I'll put up in the next couple of days.

There ya go again accusing me of being a enabler may I say one thing! LOL

That’s right Dave I’ve heard your a pro! ?

I’d like to recover some of the files if possible from the early Shave Off thread but I’m excited to start this new journey with some new razors.

Talk to you soon.

Was there ever a "champion" for the smoothest razor?

I predict the 1.55 WR2 will take the crown for "extremely efficient"

Hello my friend!

Thanks and I’m looking forward to starting it. The RS10 with the mild baseplate took the Championship final round by a little bit over the Timeless high polishes Ti .95 SB as with all the Shave Offs I used the scoring system and each had their strength and if I’m correct the RS 10 won by only a half a point.

WR2 1.55 I’m thinking has to go in the Hyper Efficient category.

See you soon in the thread!

I can’t say how happy I am to see this thread continue.

The original thread was responsible for my extrapolation of the Timeless SS 0.68 results leading me to acquire my Timeless Titanium 0.68, which has been my go to razor for almost 18 months.

Alas, the efficiency of this next shave off is beyond my needs, but still enjoyable to read. I am anxious to see where the Janus compares as I will soon have one (due in a large measure to reading about the prototype here). I don’t expect to ever use it at the high settings but who knows.

I have rambled on but my point is that I am grateful that Frank Dragonsbeard is continuing this great thread. There are many outstanding people in this hobby but Frank gets my vote for the first inductee into the shaving hall of fame for his service and commitment to helping all of us. It is also nice to see the support he has received in this and at least one other forum that I am a member of.

Please don’t make me buy another razor. But if I must, I will.

SM29 I second that opinion - Frank Dragonsbeard as an inductee to the shaving hall of fame +1

Love the potential of this thread.

Any way to lock the thread to Dragonsbeard and 2nd thread for the valuable comments from forum members. Best case is page 5 for first shave-off.

That was my suggestion many moons ago. Invariably the shave offs get buried in a mountain of comments making it near impossible to find later.

Thank you my friends for the kind thoughtful words. There are so many members, razor, brush and soap makers that contribute to this hobby that I’d feel are more deserving of that than me if there were such a thing as a shaving hall of fame.

Thank you and great shaves!

Call me dumb but I’m not sure what your suggesting as a solution to a problem with the last Shave Off which I myself had problems looking for when I wanted to revisit a particular Shave Off. My thoughts were if I could get a partner in this Shave Off that can create an index and update after each Shave Off it would be so easy to look one up. Guys I’m drawing up the guidelines so I’m open to all suggestions on how to make things easier for the members on here.

Thanks for the input. I’d like everything set up properly before getting started with the Shave Offs.
