I see I missed that copper WR3 on the BST... wrong timezone

nachum please let us know how the shaves were?

I will be updating this thread when my loaner 0.40 SB and 0.74 OC arrive - hopefully next week.

Can’t wait to hear about the .74 as my number will come up in about a month or so and I am leaning toward a Copper WR3 OC in the highest gap offered.

That will be the 0.60 OC George, unless you can convince James otherwise. The 0.74 is a prototype.

I'll be able to compare to vintage GEMs as well - have a couple of Micromatics that just arrived (both versions).

I think I can convince him. Me and a friend convinced him to make us 1.65 WR2’s a while back. James knows that I like my razors as aggressive as he can make them so not too concerned about that. I just want someone to use the .74 so that I can hear how it shaves. GEM razors are a different animal that a standard DE or artist club SE.

Many folks thought the Rocnel SE-G GEM razor was too aggressive. I think it’s amazing! I think the Blackland Sabre L1 is too mild but the L2 is great and the Above The Tie G1 was waaaaay too mild.

There are a few .74 gaps around

Agree about the Sabre and G1 - unless you hack the baseplate or shim it

Not tried the Rocnel

Thanks, great review. Think James has changed the production version to deal with the blade seating issue correct?

Yes, the centre peg is now GEM shaped and I think the stops are higher.
