They seem to have stopped at the 6th. I have not yet received a follow up for my order from the 7th.

I got on the waitlist on 3/7/20, and received my proceed with order email today.

Sweet. So I imagine the .48 will be a WR1 I'm guessing? I'm not sure what the smallest custom WR2 is but I saw a .85 one that sounds too mild tho. I'm figuring if the WR2 gaps get too small then they probably don't shave as well since the head geometry is designed to accommodate a higher blade gap while retaining smoothness and comfort. The only WR1 I owned was a .61SB wasn't a fan of it. But heard some of the other gaps are better.

Yes the WR1 .48, I doubt James would make a .48 WR2! I've seen references to ultra low WR2s, 0.70 but wonder like you how well they cut. The .48 has a good amount less blade exposure, way closer to neutral than the .61. Oddly, the .80 is really smooth despite having even more blade exposure.

Lol. I bet a .48 WR2 would be garbage, a cartridge would probably be more efficient. Definitely makes more sense for a WR1 since the head geometry is more aggressive. I wonder why the .61 along with the lupo is such a love it or hate it razor. Both tugged really bad for me no matter what blade I used but some people find it to be incredibly Smooth. Guess it depends on your skin. I've heard the higher gap WR1s are smoother then the .61 which is interesting. Might be the case for that .80. Yeah .70 sounds really low. I've heard the .95 is already pretty mild itself. Hoping the 1.05 will be on the lower end of mid aggressive comparable to the masamune.

True, depends totally on the geometry. My Masamune as you know has negative exposure but works really well for me but my preference is for mild razors. May go for a WR2 next time round but need another 9 months of research lol.

I find it to be really interesting how the masamune has a much smaller blade gap and negative blade exposure while the karve C Plate has a considerably higher blade gap and positive exposure but the masamune is noticeably more efficient. Goes to show there's many factors that go into hiw a razor shaves. And fair enough lol based on your taste, it sounds like the .95 would probably fair well for you but you could go for a bit smaller. Sgrdddy has a .85 he has a bunch of videos on. That reminds me need to sign up again lol definitely want to go for another one if i can afford it down the road.

Just like my Silversmith v the Masamune.

I've seen some of those videos but he felt the mildest WR1 .48/.54 had less blade feel than the WR2 .85 so it is so personal. Would be looking at .95 gap and under I imagine. Let's get this one first.

I received the WR2 yesterday and shaved my dome with it yesterday and today. The craftsmanship is absolutely stellar. The most beautiful razor I've ever seen and used. The WRH2 Handle is stunning and feels very comfortable to hold. I got a near BBS shave going through 4 days growth on the dome. It handled it very well. Had somewhat of a rough shave with it today though. Will have to play with the angle and with different blades to find what works the best for it. I really hope it works out and will be my grail razor though.

Man I just had a crazy thought after seeing this pic in a classified.
Could this be a legit way of increasing your wolfman's gap without getting
into shimming?
