Wolfman WR2 Head Discussion

I put in an order for my second WM on 1/8. I waited a bit before signing up again, as I didn’t feel like a second would be necessary. I changed my mind after shaving with the WR1 1.25 for a couple of weeks.
I’m going for WR1 this time. I’m debating between the .74 or .80, and OC or Cc. I usually prefer closed comb razors but it seems like people like the OC for the WR1.

I have the 125 as well. I had a 61 OC, but I sold it to help fund a purchase for a hobby. I’m going to order another wr1 at some point. I’m debating between the 74 & 80 as well. I’m getting the OC either way. I’m going to try a hollow handle next time as well so I can mix things up a little.

I got the hollow WR2 handle with the 1.25 and really enjoy the balance. I’m going for a Darwin this time around.

I really enjoy shaving with the Lupo (based on the .61). I’d place it my top 3 if it were a bit more efficient along side the 1.25, Timeless .95, and Karve D/E.

Received my WR-2 SB 1.55 yesterday(pics in SOTD).
Feels a lot different than my open comb WR2 smoother but still can feel blade. It was a great shave.

Enjoyed the first shave with the .67 WR1 this am. As I mostly use my WR2 1.25 as a daily driver I was surprised how efficiently the .67 mowed down 2 days growth. The first pass with the OC side (WTG) then with the SB side for the XTG and AGT for the second and third passes. I expected the .67 to be too mild even with new feather. A very nimble and smooth shaving instrument. I do not have any issues with the WR2 being able to get to all the tight spots like under the nose but the WR1 was a bit better due to the head design. The were 2 revelations - the first as this was my first experience with a WM solid XL handle. I have the same handle (WHR2) but a 90 hollow. I enjoyed the length of the handle but prefer the lightness of the hollow handle. The second insight was the OC teeth were smooth and added some additional efficiency but nothing to be concerned about. I have never tried the OC in the WR2 which some like and some do not. I look forward to a few more shaves to really get a sense of the design. So for the first time out - a thumbs up for the WR1. I look forward to see how much stubble returns tomorrow am especially under the jawline and chin which will be the true test. I am very fortunate to be able to try this WM and my thanks to the member who has enough trust to loan for a few days. Good shaves to all.

FYI, I received my order to proceed from 1/8 yesterday. I’m going for a wr1 .80 OC on a Darwin. Tara said James is currently machining Darwin’s and that they’ll be ready 9/10.
