I hope to get a WR2 as I have a few WR1’s, however, I feel it is inappropriate to slam other razor makers. I also have Paradigm razors and enjoy the shave I get from them. If there is a reason you don’t like a razor it would make sense to say why but to degrade another type of razor to hype another without explaining why you feel that way helps no one who may be interested in that razor.

I’m just looking for clarification on who you’re speaking about. If it’s just a general comment I’m in agreement.

I really liked my paradigms, but moved on from them personally. I’ll be grabbing the SE the moment it’s released.

It was a general statement not meant to offend anyone. I just notice that it occurs quite often that in a discussion of one high end razor someone slams another maker but fails to say why, this educates no one. I find both positive and negative examples help others choose razors to buy or not. Usually Wolfman is the one being slammed so I am defending no Artisan

You are 100% correct; this makes reading comments about razors much less interesting and we get little to 0 real information.

When I made the comparison with Paradigm Ti-II (neither negative nor positive) I was wondering whether WR2 is a razor that shaves while letting you know that is doing the work (like BlackBird) or is it like Paradigm Ti-II which, in my opinion, does the work without 'letting you know much' (i.e. without much blade feel/feedback).

I have tried a few Wolfman razors and will get the chance to try a WR-2 soon, so I will try to comment on that.

I look forward to your comparison. I agree completely with your description of the BB and Paradigm Ti2

Yeah and that’s a good point a and b to compare against as they’re very different on the face.

Using this as a comparison I would place it near the Ti2 in that regard.

I am hoping this thread can become a place for folks to compile their YMMV experiences with this head, and not turn into a typical wolfman thread....

1 - I’m not going to touch this one.

2 - you really think James has any interest in detailing the differences?

Yeah, why not? Is this some secret? He said a while ago that he was going to offer a similar design to the BBS-1, but they look identical, if not exactly the same. You think he has a spot for you on his blacklist if you ask him that question? lol

If someone asked me for details about a proprietary project, I would tell them to pound sand.

Also I don’t really care what the different is. I don’t have a bbs-1. I would never pay the going secondary market rate for a bbs-1.

I was told, by the guy who’s experience you want to dismiss, that the cap is a tiny bit wider.

I wouldn't really call something like a razor proprietary when someone could measure the differences between the razor heads with a micrometer/calipers and such.

True but angles and whatnot are not easy to measure.

4th shave with this razor. It leans mild to me. I could do a full 3 pass shave every day and not have any irritation. It glides over trouble spots with ease. Folks that enjoy the .61 or .54 gap wr1 should love this razor.

Tomorrow I will try a more aggressive blade in this razor. I think you could easily use a feather in this razor without any issue, but I’m going with my trusty Gillette 7 o’clock yellow.
