I disagree re ease of loading of side tab blades in a flat plane razor. To my experience no other system is better and blade feel is enhanced incredibly. Poor john of lassc really gets lost in discussions of this design. He may have designed the best de ever then farmed to best craftsman of de razors ever

SOTD

This razor is crazy. Sometimes I have to check and see if there’s a blade loaded and it’s as efficient as a .74 gap WR1

I don’t think those of you that enjoy the large gap wr1 will enjoy this razor though. Little to zero blade feel. Much different than a wr1

Have you used Paradigm Ti-II? It sounds like that little to zero blade feel - but efficient.

I had a Ti2 but sold it. I didn’t find it efficient at all. But yes, super smooth shaver no doubt.

Sound like a 17-4 with a little less efficiency. For me, the 17-4 is closer to 80WR1 than .74.

With that said, I can live with a razor just as you described. It would be a nice break from the large gap WR1's.

Is that a Declaration brush there Kehole ?

I’d say it’s more efficient than the 17-4, or roughly equal to.

And yep, that’s a Dark Amethyst LE B5

I'm so gonna enjoy the WR2. While I prefer blade feel, I have no issue losing one if the efficiency is there. What blade are you using?

That's a great looking brush. I got my hands on a B3 and quickly had a custom B6 on order. It's great.

I started with a wizamet. That’s my usual starting point with any razor. I also like Astra SS & SP, Gillette 7 o clock yellows, kai, pol and feathers in these razors, at least the wr1. I’ve found they’re not picky. This one may be different, don’t know yet.

Thank you. Scott has me hook, line and sinker. I’ve owned almost all the high end badger brands and have sold all except 2. Declarations and Brad Sears select 2 band.

B3 is my least favorite batch. 5 and 6 are straight up the best knots I’ve ever used. I have too many 5’s and 6’s to admit

I decided that I was out of the hunt for a Wolfman Razor.  I had the opportunity to get on the last waiting list James posted(~3 yrs ago maybe.)  It just wasn't a priority at the time.

Then, Kehole started this thread for the WR2.
Then, Kehole put the WR2 on the WRH2.
Now, Kehole has posted a SOTD of WR2 w/WRH2 alongside a DG Dark Amethyst LE B5. Just beautiful stuff there!

Kehole, you are not making it easy on me, brother. Winking

Gents, any nother comparisons? Paradigm ti2 is a very low bar and the wr1 is an excellent, beautifully made razor, just not my cup of tea.
