My name just came up on the list...

I already own a WR2 (1.25 gap) which is plenty aggressive but not too much for me

This time, I'm thinking I'll order a WR1 Dual Comb. Very tempted to go with the .86 gap, but maybe I should play it a bit safer and do the .74.

For what its worth, I absolutely LOVE the Razorock Lupo. I get perfect shaves with it and I hear its modeled after a .61 WR1!

Why is this decision so hard? haha Smile

Any advice is appreciated!

I absolutely love the 0.74, it has a good bit more efficiency than the 0.61 or 0.67, but not much more blade feel. My favorite razor ever. The 0.86 has a good bit more blade feel and is incredibly efficient, but smooth. It's not scary, but the blade is very present. I have a 0.80 on order, but you can't go wrong with the 0.74 unless you're looking for something on the outer edge of efficiency.

The 0.80 is a great razor, really smooth in the OC if you feel you need extra efficiency. Personally I prefer milder razors but can use the .80, far less blade feel than I was expecting. Just ordered a .48 and have a .54 DC and just acquired a .61 OC.

Think I will need to try the .74 next!

Well taking into consideration that we are all different ... I've got a number of different gaps in WR1 & WR2 and the 0.74 DC is one of my absolute favorites. Superbly efficient, but I could easily shave with it daily. Very smooth. Using that one with a Darwin handle. A longer heavier handle might change the game.  Smile

For those of you who have the .74 and .80, which do you prefer for daily use?

I no longer have the .74. The 80OC is probably my favorite daily shaver WR1.

I have a 125 SB and 74 OC. I think the efficiency is very similar. I use both of them daily. I like the 74 better on multiple days growth. Both work, but the 74 is smoother. I think the 125 is probably a little smoother for daily shaves.

Jimmy’s advice on WR2 gap was excellent, he recommended the highest gap. I am curious why only .74 gap on WR1 if it gets smoother after .80 gap?

I've never had an .80 gap to shave with. I've done .61 in both SB & OC, and they were alright, but the .74 was far better. In WR1 I still have .86 OC, and .94 DC. Both are quite good, but for my particular face/neck the .74 DC is smoother.

I am going to buck the prevailing logic here and say that the smoothest WR1 I've owned is my Ti .61. I've owned the WR1 in .61 SB, .67 OC, .80 SB, and .86 SB, all in SS, and that .61 Ti is the smoothest of them all. Maybe because it's titanium? I dunno. I also felt the .61 SS was smoother than my .80 SS. In my experience (as a mostly daily shaver), the smoothness does not increase with the gap.
