My question for you (since you have a vast knowledge of Wolfman) is which WR1 blade gap .80 or .86 feels smoother in comparison? Is the blade feel a big step up or similar? Is efficiency of both .80 & .86 comparable? My goal is to run a daily driver and I want to get it right the first time .
Thank You in advance for your input and sharing your experiences with the community.
Sent you a PM.

I’ve been super busy recently and haven’t been very active on the board. I wanted to share what arrived in the mail this week. A .80 SB WR1 on Darwin handle, it’s a beauty!
I’ve only used it twice but here are my quick takes. I love the handle! The razor as a whole seems very nimble and precise. I wanted a WR1 after my positive experience with the Lupo. I wanted the same great shave feel with more efficiency. I went back and forth on gap and comb style right up to the end. The .80 has been excellent so far. I’ll use my 1.25 WR2 next and compare.
Here’s what it looks like in matte, NOT brushed Satin the 150 upgrade
This razor, which was part of a large trade is now cerokoted in black......
Hope this helps your decision

Please post a picture of the black version.

It does, thank you! The Darwin was quite obviously made to be polished.

Then to save manufacturing time (and cost) he offered the Polished/Brushed Basic finishes.
The new Brushed (Satin) is the same as the old Brushed finish.
A question on WR1 dual combs from anyone who has an OC and a SB version of a WR1 in the same gap — esp. a .86 gap. I’ve read opinions that both sides feel and shave the same.
That seems unlikely to me. I note the my .84 OC Game Changer shaves closer but a little rougher than the same in solid bar. Is this really the magic razor where both sides of a dual comb shave the same?

I had DC heads in the 80, 86, and 94 heads. For me, the SB is noticeably smoother with less blade feel. The OC cuts a smidgen closer. Not really enough to warrant making a decision strictly on efficiency. I've grown to appreciate the OC heads for the increased blade feel. It took me a couple of years to get here tho.
