Vpetrishky All I know from my personal experience, that regardless the brand or model, the main advantage or difference for me was the overall face feel compared to SS. SS can feel colder and sometimes harsher where Ti has more of a buttery and smoother feeling. Some like to call it softer. The lighter weight also attracts many users. I did not notice a difference in shave result between Ti and SS when using the same gap or identical razor.

I find it the same using SS or Ti no different shave result with same Gap or indentical Razor, I actually prefer SS in many different reasons but YMMV.

So I know I posted in the past that I wasn't happy with Ti because it is 'too light in weight', but I've changed my mind. I love my WR2 1.35 with the long WRH7/3 hybrid handle. Thanks to LOOT for his paving the way with all of his experimentation or I'd have never known the handle existed.

The Muhle R-41 Ti is just fine in terms of weight with the balance between handle and head. The Blackbird is a great head, and I'd like it better with a long Ti handle, but it is okay as is. I only hope that Shane will eventually issue a long Ti Blackbird handle. So say all that to say .... I like my Ti better than the SS counterparts.

Weight is of course a personal preference, but for a lightweight razor I'd prefer hollow handled SS over Ti. Over the years I've learned that Ti is not well suited to applications where you are tightening and loosining threads a lot, as Ti threads are prone to galling. For this reason, I always use a lubricant on Ti threads. Ti is extremely corrosion resistant and very lightweight for it's strength, so it is an ideal material for many applications. For 3-piece razors, however, I believe SS and brass/bronze are better suited materials. Just another viewpoint - I know many people are very happy with their Ti razors, and it's nice to have so many materials to choose from.

For this reason, I always use a lubricant on Ti threads.

Yes. Although I do find the viscosity of such an oil to be on the thinner side. So you may find that you need to re-lube after a thorough cleaning, especially with Ti.

Sure, but I'd recommend a grease over an oil. Most people have Vaseline on hand and that should work fine. I use Loctite 8009, which is an anti-sieze grease - mostly because I have it on hand anyway, but also because it protects against galvanic corrosion should I choose to mix metals (SS head on a Ti handle, for example). Note that a lubricant does not eliminate galling - it only reduces the liklihood of it. I have galled threads on a Ti flashlight that was lubed.
