Stands went up too
When I bought my Wolfman set, I think it was $350CDN and that included a stand, now that same razor is $600!! Whoa! Personally, I don’t think any razor is worth that price, but I also don’t blame James for testing out how high he can charge for his incredible and beautiful workmanship. It’s business and he’s in it to make money like all of us when it comes to our career. I think the market will support these prices for a bit but I don’t believe long term the market will support it, we’re already seeing a big decrease in Wolfman resale prices and competition in the high end DE razors is growing.
I would love the opportunity to try out the new WR2 head but with very small purchase windows on random days that is not likely to happen until any time soon.
One other problem (if you can call it a problem) is once you get a razor, you better hope you chose wisely regarding blade gap because you will probably be SOL trying to swap or trade it for another gap.

That has actually not been my experience so much, at least with the wr1’s. Swapping gaps has always been accomplished in under a day when I’ve attempted. The market will reach that with the wr2’s as well eventually.

For me personally the former has been my experience. A good friend of mine loaned me his increased Blade Gap WR1, if it weren’t for him I’d have never been able to try one. The opportunity to purchase a Wolfman are so few and far between for me that when I did have the opportunity I was worried that I would select a Blade Gap that was too aggressive for my tastes and be stuck with a Razor that I couldn’t shave with. So the opportunities I have had to purchase one, I chose middle of the road .67 and .74 Blade Gaps. I’ve read everything I can about people’s experiences with them, but just as everything else in wet shaving YMMV. I loved the increased Blade Gap on my friends WR1, and got better results than with my .67 and .74 Blade Gaps. I’ve tried on several different occasions to swap for a larger gap, but I’ve had no success. The same thing happened to me with my WR2. I purchased a WR2 from the second release, before additional gaps were offered, and found the .95 far too inefficient for my tastes. I ended up selling my first WR2 to a friend for cost. I’m sure as time goes by it may become easier for people that network with one another to swap if they’re not happy with the results they’re getting from their Razors, but so far that has not been the case for me.
