I also get really good results with Gillette Nacet Blades. I’ve yet to try the Wizamet and Gillette Yellows, but will have to give them a try. DanLaw also recommended Timor which I will try as well.

100% agreed!
How long did you have to wait in the waiting list?
Tks

No waitlist you just have to get lucky with the times when the store randomly opens. I had it in my cart and went to pay then while the payment was processing said sold out. Oh well, maybe in the next couple of weeks I'll snag another WR1.

I use the OC side for my first pass WTG then switch to SB side for XTG

Same here. OC first pass, SB next 2

DanLaw, could you give a gap that is similar in feel to the BBS-1? Im in love with my .80 OC right now so ill wait till next year for another but a guy can dream right?

BBS1 is a flatplane razor so has unique properties. Although find all duFour razors to like riding the cap, it is especially so with BBS1. My take is that the flat plane design delivers a smoothness equivalent to the 0,54 but really takes away beard (and skin) like a 0,74.

By far, Timor blades work best in all the duFour razors for me. They don’t tug like Gillettes, are as sharp and lasting as Polsilvers yet are not bitey when new.

To Mark and DanLaw  Thanks for this advice. I did this just now and it was the Best shave yet. I think I will stick with this. Thanks again.

Just an update on my new Wolfie. On my 4th shave, I threw my favorite blade in it,a feather. 2 passes with OC and 1 cleanup with SB. I received one of my closest shaves ever

Just wanted to compile a reference of changes added to the WR1 since relocation (as of 1/27/2019).

Please Note:
  • Additional Options are for Stainless Steel only
  • Pricing is still the same but now is broken down by head and handle
  • Darwin Handle has no additional size options
  • Machining in the past was done ahead of time now but is now being done on the spot so there will be a 2-3 week wait before items are made and ready to ship.
  • All prices are in CAD

WR1 Head ($300)
  • No changes but just wanted to let others know the unlisted offerings (must be made by request)
    • 0.91mm blade gap (aggressive)
    • 0.94mm blade gap (aggressive)

Handles ($200)
  • Added length size options for the following handles
    • WRH1 - 80mm and 100mm (90mm standard)
    • WRH2 - 80mm and 100mm (90mm standard)
    • WRH3 - 90mm (96mm standard)
    • WRH7 - 98mm (90mm standard)
  • Added an option to hollow out the handle which reduces the weight by approx. 30 grams ($20)

I wonder if he will be able to produce more with the bigger shop? That is what I was hoping for but with the even longer wait time to produce orders I wonder if that will be possible.

Anyone have any idea when the next drop will be?
