This thread is the best of the year...... seriously entertaining!!!

Side note, the "free market" does not excuse poor customer service or really bad processes and isn't something people upset with the practices of WMR don't understand, I think they get the concept of free market and to try and give them a little economics lesson in response is a tad belittling.

In the scheme of things is this life or death stuff? No, but very little is. However, when some people have waited and tried and waited and tried to get on the waiting list and then don't make that list while other people have been afforded the opportunity to get two and three and in some cases, four of these razors, I can see and certainly understand their frustration and sour taste for James and WMR.

To me the solution is simple. If you have had a poor experience with this vendor, scream it from the roof tops. I think the wet shaving community is pretty good about both lauding praise and lamenting displeasure with vendors and USUALLY, it's pretty reliable. The community also doesn't have a short memory -See Douglas Smythe and PAA for reference and "controversy".

I thought this waiting list nonsense was insane over a year ago and I haven't even considered getting one of these razors because of it and I voiced my disagreement with the process then. However, I haven't then gone back and tried to still get one.

Seriously folks... there are a plethora of razors out there just as good, that shave just was well, and look just as nice as these do. If you are ticked off at WMR then have some conviction behind your angst and DON'T BUY one.... spend your dollars elsewhere on the numerous other amazing razors that have recently or will soon be hitting the market. However, if you come here and express your angst and then still repeat the waiting list process followed by complaining, you won't find much sympathy and that action is hypocritical.

I see there is one on ebay for 650.... so ultimately if you have to have one of these razors is 350 worth getting it now, a year earlier than you would through WMR anyway and then being done with the whole fiasco.... I suppose how bad you have to have one determines that answer.

Wow its amazing how much tears have been shed in this thread over a RAZOR??? Really?!?! I don't know whats James nick on the forum but from what I read up seems that this sort of things put pressure on the guy. I know exactly how it is working with customers that take the wind out of you...

So what I did I contacted James and offered him to give up my spot in order to satisfy the crying babies. I originally was going to get 2 razors, if he is ok with my offer he might give 1 spot or maybe he will give 2 spots 1 razor per each. Just send the email to him so I don't even know if he is ok with it, gave him this offer in order to satisfy the crying babies and maybe he can get a little bit peace of mind.... Not doing this for the crying babies, doing it for James, so its his choice not yours. I do NOT own any wolfman razor and wanted to have few for the first time.....

Anyways people, calm down and do not embarrass your self over a freaking razor, peace out.

EDIT: Offer declined!!! once again I lucked out!!!! but at least I tried to accommodate the heartbroken people on this forum over a razor....

I have the BBS 1 and a stainless steel standard bar and I actually like the way the BBS 1 shaves better because it feels smoother on the face. That being said there are other razors that shave as good or even better than my Wolfman and those are the Timeless razor, I have the scalloped head, the Blackbird and the Rockwell 6s. The build quality on all those are wonderful but still a notch below the Wolfman razors but as far as shave and availability goes there's no need to wait for a Wolfman when you have so many other choices as well as some of the ATT razors. And don't forget all the new wonderful SE razors that  are now on the market So the choice is yours. Each person has to decide for themselves.

I've come here to say the same thing myself.

I'm a one-man show, and although I may hire a former co-worker, I don't know if that's enough.

My outlook has always been that if I remain working alone, there's  only so much work I'll be able to get done.   In other words if demand is strong, the competition is where customers will go when I have nothing available.    This should be the outcome.

But unfortunately, it's not the outcome.   My lack of availability is causing strange problems.    Some of the comments in this thread are both disturbing and outright offensive.    I don't get it.

If you want to wait, it's your choice.  I don't advise it, because other options are available.

Or...you can purchase a razor on my behalf and sell it to me at cost. I'm not a baby, I didn't cry, but I was very disappointed to learn that I would not be able to purchase a Wolfman Razor even though I was #50 on waiting list.

I want one off these razors, but I'm in no rush. I'll keep trying, i figure I'll get lucky sooner or later. I the meantime I'm having fun with other gear. But I'll say it one more time, i do covet one of these razors. Is that a sin?

I am number 30 and I stayed up late for this but I'm not a cry baby. I was saddened by what happened but two of my good friends thinks highly of James, and I think highly of these two gentlemen. I will say no more about what happened, I don't know much anyway.

I found our hobby to be therapeutic and relaxing, I'd like to go back to that again.

Enjoy yours in good health gents

You do understand that buying 2 razors bumps me way back in the waiting line AKA I might end up waiting for the razors 6 months and more. Also why didn't you bought anything when items were available on his website an hour after the list closed?

I actually backed off from buying anything from his store so people can get ahead, why didn't you bought something?

I did try to make a purchase on the website but items sold faster than a "Wolfman Waiting List"!
Enjoy your new Wolfman. Smile

Personally, I think all you guys paying $300 for these razors are out of your mind. And waiting for two years???

I think calling people that have arranged their schedule a couple of different times so that they were available to refresh frantically to get on a list only to have that list wiped out, then watched the same people wind up with several razors, cry babies is pretty rude. ( I know, run on sentence, blah, blah, blah)

You guys can defend yer buddy. Maybe he'll put you ahead in the line on the next list. :-)

I'm a capitalist for sure. And no, I won't be bidding on the $650 razor. I think it's perfectly fine for Wolfman to be a capitalist too. When he jacks people around so he can drive up the price of his products he shouldn't be surprised when people go around "besmirching his reputation" though.

And some of these responses remind me of the guys that hang around on the Rickenbacker corporate website kissing John Hall's ***. I guess it's important to them to be in the good graces of some chump just because his daddy left him an Iconic guitar company.

You might of came little bit late, but handles and heads were available for good 15-20 minutes, I know that because I noticed the moment they become available and wanted to post here to let people know, someone already did that.... You can wait and I'll order razor for you, but don't forget this once I tell him 2 razors I immediately am no longer priority and throws me way back in the line, by the way he explained it sounded to me that I might still wait even after he is serving the 2nd list that only order 1 razor only.

As you see the dude puts every body in the back of the line that orders more than 1 razor, at least he is honest about it.... So I can have 1 razor in a month or even sooner or I can have 2 in 6 months ( this is me only guessing time frame, he didn't said any time frame, he made sure to let me know I'm no longer priority since I want 2 razors and I will wait long time) .... Its a give and take.... want more = you have to wait quite a while. Seems he will be posting items on his store once every month, you might want to keep your eyes open.
